I fix broken miners. And make holes in teeth :-)
Crossing $42k was necessary to continue this rally. Tesla buying will prompt a whole new push upwards due to the acceptance that it is what the smart companies are doing.

Also, I was contemplating my next car. A plug in hybrid Pacifica or Rav4. I didn't consider Tesla because I want to be able to drive long distances.

But after Musk started tweeting positive things about Bitcoin I looked into Tesla. Looks like charging stations are common enough that I can drive most places no problem.

If I can buy a Tesla with bitcoin I'm buying one.

Well, the trick is the charge rate. Apparently superchargers can charge at a rate of 300 miles per hour. With a 500 mile pack that's not bad but you would have to fuel up over a long lunch. Biggest problem is the proper Tesla won't be ready for delivery till the fall, I want it now.....

Well sort of. I really want an open source one now. Hm.

Hm. A traditional L2 charger can do 6.6kw. With 200 watts per mile that's around 22 miles per hour. To get to 300mph you would need an input source of 59.4kw. At 408 volts 3 phase that's 50 amps per phase or 6/4 gauge wire.

(Houses do 240v single phase, so that's a 30 amp circuit with 40a wiring to handle derate. 8-10 gauge wire.)

So after this pump, f2pool came around and sell massive btc to get under 40k again. I wouldn't wonder, if this will happen.

Or maybe Elon did.

Or maybe that or maybe we go with some dump and pumps finally to 50k (I hope for 60k, because that would be 50k in Euros... damn change rate USD/EUR)

Yes I feel like this is a weak pump after such news. First Musk pump lasted shortly. Let's hope this one will be better.
It's not doge for sh*ts and giggles. He's already seriously endorsed btc more than a week ago and said he regretted "not buying it earlier" which is a strong hint that he bought. And since he's loaded, he must have bought a lot. This time is a confirmation. He'll have to buy a way bigger chunk next time to pump it that much. Or he'll have to reveal a previously bought bunch Wink

He can do multiple BTC purchases using his Doge profits.

Look here goes nothing but he did this (at least I think he did)

Purchased Doge for years at 0.001 to 0.002 usd

it was easy for him to do this as doge was way under priced.

128,289,785,324  amount of doge available

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dogecoin/

on  feb 17 2019 doge was worth 0.001974

So if he began buying doge then up until last

nov 15th 2020 doge was worth 0.002796

average purchase price of 0.002385

1 billion coins is only 2,385000
10 billion coins is only 23,850,000

stack sales at 5, 6 ,7, 8 cents.

6.5 cent average

0.065 x 10,000,000,000 = 650,000,000

So that would let him buy the btc  fairly cheaply.

sin the first 650,000,000 really only cost him 23,850,000

in between launching rockets, and building cars, he's buying doge?

Next step - integrate Bitcoin mining in Tesla while driving.

Maybe redesign the climate system to use an ASIC as a source of heat? Not so effective in warm climates though. Not to mention the impact on battery life... it looks like a tough engineering problem.  Cheesy

He seems to be experimenting with his buying of BTC to see how much it pumps up on this drop in the bucket for him.
Next one might be bigger if he wants to pump his bags of whatever he holds and hedge them. Unlike what Portney tried to do but failed miserably. Angry

The Concierge of Crypto
Some interesting read (partly offtopic) from a well-known nocoiner and permabear: https://www.gmo.com/europe/research-library/waiting-for-the-last-dance/

This guy is a major douche and he also claimed BTC was dead and a bubble several times but I could agree with some points regarding the stock market.  Cool

Some more of him:

20. "What is the future value of the dividend stream of bitcoin? It is nil. It will never pay you a dividend. If you're desperate, can you eat it? No you can't. Its entire value is on the greater fool, is it not? So bitcoin could be worth $1 million a unit if you can find someone to pay it."

21. "Bitcoin is 100% faith. Come the next market phase where faith is at a minimum, what do we think will happen to a stock whose entire reason for existence is faith and nothing but faith?"

rOach?  Grin

There are faiths and religions that exist for thousands of years. You'd be long dead by the time any of them disappear, and they are unlikely to disappear. He's using the wrong analogy for this one, but I'll take Bitcoin that lasts 2021 years any time. (there are a few others more than 3000 years old too.)

I kinda knew and felt TSLA would buy some BTC, it was just a matter of time. It makes sense they bought before the MicroStrategy conference.

Wow... I'm totally happy that my projection of 2/14 ATH was shattered.

Didn't expect to wake up and see the fucking Musk bought up $1.5 billion worth of BTC.

I was just talking about this to a close friend a few days ago.  This is fucking gentlemen.

I'm afraid it won't be a BTC exclusive. Other crypto will be part of the investment options.

Quote
We hold and may acquire digital assets that may be subject to volatile market prices, impairment and unique risks of loss.

In January 2021, we updated our investment policy to provide us with more flexibility to further diversify and maximize returns on our cash that is not required to maintain adequate operating liquidity. As part of the policy, which was duly approved by the Audit Committee of our Board of Directors, we may invest a portion of such cash in certain alternative reserve assets including digital assets, gold bullion, gold exchange-traded funds and other assets as specified in the future. Thereafter, we invested an aggregate $1.50 billion in bitcoin under this policy and may acquire and hold digital assets from time to time or long-term. Moreover, we expect to begin accepting bitcoin as a form of payment for our products in the near future, subject to applicable laws and initially on a limited basis, which we may or may not liquidate upon receipt.

The prices of digital assets have been in the past and may continue to be highly volatile, including as a result of various associated risks and uncertainties. For example, the prevalence of such assets is a relatively recent trend, and their long-term adoption by investors, consumers and businesses is unpredictable. Moreover, their lack of a physical form, their reliance on technology for their creation, existence and transactional validation and their decentralization may subject their integrity to the threat of malicious attacks and technological obsolescence. Finally, the extent to which securities laws or other regulations apply or may apply in the future to such assets is unclear and may change in the future. If we hold digital assets and their values decrease relative to our purchase prices, our financial condition may be harmed.

Moreover, digital assets are currently considered indefinite-lived intangible assets under applicable accounting rules, meaning that any decrease in their fair values below our carrying values for such assets at any time subsequent to their acquisition will require us to recognize impairment charges, whereas we may make no upward revisions for any market price increases until a sale, which may adversely affect our operating results in any period in which such impairment occurs. Moreover, there is no guarantee that future changes in GAAP will not require us to change the way we account for digital assets held by us.

Finally, as intangible assets without centralized issuers or governing bodies, digital assets have been, and may in the future be, subject to security breaches, cyberattacks or other malicious activities, as well as human errors or computer malfunctions that may result in the loss or destruction of private keys needed to access such assets. While we intend to take all reasonable measures to secure any digital assets, if such threats are realized or the measures or controls we create or implement to secure our digital assets fail, it could result in a partial or total misappropriation or loss of our digital assets, and our financial condition and operating results may be harmed.
