The thing is, how many people use USDT to buy BTC and would thus be unable to buy ? I'm not a user although I have a small amount in lending.

Ah, makes sense.   So the demand would dry up...    I can see that but on the flip side the demand for Tether would turn to dust and those billions would need to flow to other markets which would mean demand would sky rocket (on btc) first (and the dollar peg from tether would need to drop).   We saw a drop in the peg a couple years ago when this all started.   I think tether dropped to 0.8 Dollars..

Any way you slice it -- seems like a nothing burger at the moment.

tether fud is so 2017

agreed Wink

This is really the same exact story from 2017 -- Tether has a deadline of Jan 15 to deliver requested documentation to the NY DA...  (which started waaaaaay back in 2017)

a Cray can run an endless loop in under 4 hours
Talking heads on youTube pushing the story of a move on Tether this week which will cause tether to show its cracks and start to kill the momentum of the market.    I have a hard time understanding this as if people lose faith in tether they would just purchase BTC and the market would instantly balance out -- If we are pumped up on a tether printed market, why do so many talk about this bull market getting popped by an ALT?   Just FUD to move the market and scoop up more coins or is there really a risk?

Thoughts?   I just don't see why this matters.    Printing dollars and pushing the market up is no different then (supposedly) printing tether and pushing the market up.    BTC will stay at the elevated levels and the shitcoin/fiat will bleed.

tether FUD is so 2017. what's next? china bans bitcoin? let's play bitcoin bullshit bingo. what are the silliest things people or news are telling about bitcoin?

bitcoin is a tulip bubble
bitcoin is only used by criminals
bitcoin is wasting energy
bitcoin is a ponzi scheme
quantum computers will kill bitcoin
china bans bitcoin

eToro are facing a liquidity crunch, literally running out of Bitcoin to sell

Quote
The unprecedented demand for crypto, coupled with limited liquidity, presents challenges to our ability to support BUY orders over the weekend.

There is no "running out" of bitcoin. If they need one they can deliver a new Lambo to my house and I'll send them one for their users.

So simple to do instead of all that "temporarily increase supply to meet demand" stuff.....

Plant 1xTree for each Satoshi earned!

That pole is broken. I was looking at the charts and I wanted to be specific with my predicted price, but there was nothing more specific above 43K. Sad

Brace for impact. The mobs are coming to get their adoption papers! Cheesy Cheesy

After a couple of days down I started to sell corn again (arbitraging, not diminishing my stash but increasing it), still some FOMO going on it seems. I need to open bank accounts in other EU countries.

...take their ...hydroclorixicinidine hydroxychloroquine or wtf its named... etc

Can't get it, even if you ask for it as prophylaxis. At least in the US. I've tried.

Only doctors and the chosen few can get it as prophylaxis.

ivermectin is more effective than HCQ and largely explains India's good survival numbers. It's a $1 per dose drug that pharmaceutical companies have no interest in the Western medical establishment using ... not sure if you can get it prescribed in the USA but has prophylaxis, acute and chronic covid treatment benefits.

India's average population age is 29 years and life expectancy is 69 years. Healthcare is quite poor and many people can't pay for it, sanitation is also very poor (shitting in the streets etc.). COVID kills mainly people 75yo and over, and/or fat, or weak, so there is no medical miracle there, COVID can't kill people that aren't there to be killed. Same in most of Africa, Madagascar...

Also notice the politically correct mix of races. Everyone's included. It's so nice! Fits well with The Dude's other thread.

Facebook and Twitter are perfect examples of socialism:
  • You get it for free,
  • You have no say in how it works
  • The guy who runs it is rich
  • They control your access to information
  • You have no privacy
  • If you say anything they don't like, they shut you up

I'm not sure what they're talking about (which individual ?) however if COVID is WW3, then it's a very lame war !
