One of my favorite flix seen at theater as a kid. Totally fake accent by Dick, but good effort none the less.
The "making of" movie: Saving Mr. Banks with Tom Hanks as Walt Disney is a recommended watch from me.
It made me appreciate Mary Poppins a lot more.
Edit: It doesn't actually go into making the Mary Poppins movie; it's probably the wrong description I wrote, but it's more about
Disney convincing the original writer he was the right one to make a film and the ideas he and his employees had about the songs.
It's a good watch.

I was blessed to be young and see in in the theater in 1965
After watching Julie in those two movies in 1964 and 1965 I wanted a new mom as she was quite a good person to my 7 and 8 year old eyes.
