Clueless!
FinCEN Proposes KYC For Withdrawing Cryptocurrency To Private Wallets 12/18/2020

I 'believe' this only applies to USA BTC/Crypto Exchanges like Coinbase?

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/fincen-proposes-kyc-for-withdrawing-cryptocurrency-to-private-wallets

This shoe just dropped. To me it does not look like that big a deal....and was expected...but I know zip, others on here?

Smarter than myself? I also started a thread for more details. (Hey, it's over my head, need smarter analysis!)

Edit:  something like this happened to me with another exchange back in the day.  Their hotwallet ran out of bitcoin but the software kept on processing withdrawals...
Hairy, try here, if your transaction comes out you will see where it is stuck.

Cool thank you

Anyhow the TX ID is throwing an error:  “Error: Could not find your transaction in the bitcoin network. Wait a few minutes before trying again.”

I tested the address with some dust and that transaction is happily sitting there unconfirmed so definitely an issue at the Bitstamp end.

Institutions must believe all the fud..
They are just now finally getting in?

Much of the fud has come from institutions warning people away from BTC for years..

Not all institutions are the same.

Enough Retire the cards till next xmas.

BTC can do it without the cards from now to next ATH.

It would seem Bob started a trend but didn't realize the monster he would let loose. lol

I rather they be used next December to push us over 100k

$100k will be next summer at latest. Next December we'll reach $250-$450k. IMHO cards are ok as it's xmas time so why the hell not?  Grin

Agree, and maybe just post normal cards with normal greetings for the normal purpose.

Every time I enter the thread, Bitcoin is 2,000 dollars higher, at this rate I will have to sell the cat to buy Bitcoin.

These comparisons are a bit bullshit because I put my investment in 7 years ago and my returns are more like 30x (excluding trades).  I possibly would have been better off with one of those tech stocks over the same time period.

Of course I expect 2021 to be very good indeed.

Hmm Bitstamp is saying it has "finished" my transaction (send from Bitstamp to my address) but the transaction is not appearing on the blockchain.  This is after I validated the transaction with Bitstamp by email so it is not waiting on confirmation from me.  It is not even showing as unconfirmed.

Any suggestions as to what might be happening?    Does Bitstamp take awhile after they say a transaction is "finished"?  It has been about an hour and there have been 5 - 6 blocks since.

did they give you a tx id?

Found the tx id.  Searched a couple of major block explorers.  No results.

I guess I am opening a ticket with Bitstamp.

i had something similar happen with bitstamp in 2015. after 3 weeks i just re sent the btc and on the very same day the "lost" transaction went finally through and i had payed it twice. i remember it since the guy that i had sent those btc took 5 years (!) to send those overpaid btc back. oh and he only sent back 3/5 claiming he had bought the 2/5 from me some years ago. not true. 25 year friendship ended there. i would never fight about fiat money. but when it comes to the corn i get itchy.

Ha!
Well that was a nice unexpected xmas gift!
I just had a payment show up in my electrum wallet totally out of the blue.
I was like, wtf?? Who sent me this??
On further investigation, it turns out it was my final payment from Nicehash for repayment of the hack 3 years ago!!
Wow, I'd written that off months ago!  Thanx guys!

Damn, mindrust must be chewing on his WO hat like Flintheart Glomgold right now!

Frankly, I'm not even sure he's still alive...  Cool

Of course, he is alive.

He is posting on a daily basis (nearly).  He is just NOT so bold to post in this thread, but he has made some nonsense posts in other parts of the forum - kind of showing that there can be ways that guys sell near the bottom and still are able to figure out some kind of way to accept their decision.  I am pretty sure that he has at least 1 bitcoin.. but I am not 100% positive because it is NOT like I want to read his post - especially since we have likely grown quite separate in the past 9 or 10 months... I am not going to say that we grew separate because of me... NOT going to say that.   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Rofl, insane day !

EDIT: GOING AGAIN!
Really crazy. Even more than 2017 right before the dump.

That is way the fuck NOT true OOM.  We are not even close to late 2017 levels of bitcoin rise.   We may be somewhere in the territory of early 2017 or even May and June 2017 kinds of rises...  Perhaps?

You should know better than that OOM, especially for being active in this thread for a couple of years... (even though your date of registration shows less than 1 year).

He has been mentioning cryptocurrencies for some time already in the Gold camp. Not unfavourable although he maintains the Gold = eventual King thesis.

(Most of) y'all know i'm not a bear, but haven't we rarely seen more than six consecutive green daily candles in a row?
Watch out.
Hodlers unaffected  Tongue Cool

Fuck the daily candles.. who gives any shits about them?   I guess they are better than the hourly...

But anyhoo... look at the weekly candles.

Starting early October, we got 7 weekly greenies in a row, and then the next candle after that was barely red.. then another green and then another barely red one before getting to our current candle, which is a BIG ASS spike up starting from $19,152.  This continues to be a pretty BIG candle relatively speaking - and even in terms of percentages and zooming out, too.  So personally, I don't really know what to think but the candle does cover a lot of no man's land.. so it might just be an ongoing symbol of our passage through noman's land, even though there are no real guarantees that noman's land will become support at any time soon... or that we might not pass back below it.. even if it is going to continue to have to be noman's land until some other facts come about to prove it to be something else.. so far not.

By the way, for the past two days, we have been gravitating (consolidating) (perhaps coiling?) towards the top of the weekly candle.. whatever that means?

It was pure pun, for fun.
you destroyed it, somehow.  Roll Eyes

I tend to have that effect on puns.

Next time I'll try and post it in haiku form.

Gay gay night trader
Etc.

Something to look forward to on Sunday.  Are we entertained, yet?  Thanks in advance, friends1980 for committing** to entertaining us with a haiku of your spoiling the moo punnening.

**I will note that you, friends1980, are not exactly the best at following through with your oral commitments - eg reading the whole WO thread and reporting back to us.. that did not seem to happen or is NOT seeming to be happening.

........and if JJG was going to chime in today, must be busy with decorating the Christmas tree or sumthing! Wink

It's just that sometimes our schedules just do not align... so surely, I cannot always keep up with you crazy-asses when you are posting like mad men (and girl).  I have been shown know actual and real way to clone my lil selfie (so far).
