Check this out:
https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2020-global-economic-forecast-2050/

I say that it is bulls--t. The same type of projections were published in the 60ies and 70ies about USSR and the East block.
The bottom line is command-and-control economy cannot function for long periods of time.
As Xi grows more authoritarian, China economy will slow down, then go into a crisis a la USSR.
However, US better get at least another 150-200mil people in (or born) by 2050 to match the EU.

Matt Corallo Roll Eyes turned the fibre network off.

WTF!?!?

Aside, I wonder if this will affect development of Blockstream Satellite, which relies on bits from that project under the hood.

Now we getting more stale blocks, leading to more centralisation of mining.

Just at the moment when we are getting what looks like Mike Hearn’s wet dream of a blacklisting/KYC mining pool, too.

The former public demo FIBRE network is no longer operational.

Helpful hat on:

When in doubt, check trust pages for bidirectional neutral feedback linking the accounts.  And if you set up a not-as-secure alt for use on less-trusted devices, then you should do that, too!

Cf.:

  • theymos_away (theymosnot confirmed with bidirectional neutrals on the accounts’ trust pages; naughty Thermos!)
  • LoyceMobile (LoyceV)
  • Probably bunches of others.  Tracking this stuff is not my department.

It is customary that such accounts should not be trusted for trading, or when significant damage could be otherwise caused by an account hack.

Nothing. I'm away from home for a bit.

how many merits do you need for next step?

Is full member 50 or 100?

Full member is 100 merit (and 120 activity)

But please don't lavish 'em on this account. I mean I'd like a hat and all, but there's no rush.

Surely, I will try to hold my precious sMerits.  But at the rate that you earn merits, I would not be surprised to see this account on some little list someday.  ;-)

Note the unconventional cAPITALIZATION!
Damnit!  Who at this stupid company (Coinbase)  is the one who makes the decisions that determine that EVERYTHING they do is done in a way that puts Bitcoin in a backseat.

Was gonna buy something at Protonmail...

I mean they do not sell as many shitcoins as Kraken or Gemini or whoever, but at least those companies treat bitcoin like the 900lb gorilla that it is.

It's like Armstrong has been trying from the very beginning to sweep bitcoin out of the way for...

well... for...

What exactly?  ETH?

Damnit.

(and the other post)

Just saw this, and your other post (too many beers...).

Thanks for sharing, all the very best! We all will have to deal with health issues at some point in our lives, and it is then when we realise how important our health is. Even 1,000,000 BTC is worthless to you if you can't enjoy it. That's why we have to seize the moment and enjoy our lives whenever we can, and not postpone things for "later"...

Enjoy your beers  Grin
My second thought to leave my story here is that it maybe helps somebody some day, a friend or relative of a WO with similar issues for example.

Addicted to HoDLing!

(My pain and fatigue story)

i had no clue about all this. wishing you the best for your health.

Thanks, man  Smiley Appreciating it!
It all started after a viral infection which started out with very low fever but kept me busy about four weeks, followed by fatigue and muscle weakness.
Doctors said it's a burnout (i was a workaholic, but i didn't really suffer from it), so they reccomended b-vitamins, those made me get better to some degree, but some more health problems came up at the time, because i didn't address them before (sorry, i had to work  Grin)

FMS seems to "make whimps out of men", as some victims are describing it, and i can totally understand that point of view, but i got used to a lot of pain from skateboarding already, and i also wasn't the type that tends to give up on himself. Additionally, i was positive about whatever life was throwing at me, most of the time at least.

Taking an extra 250mg of Thiamine (five times the usual dose) resolved all this within a matter of three days.

Five? Are you sure about that? The US RDA for Thiamine is about 1.2mg/day.

Right. 50mg was my daily dose (added to 4mg from my daily b-vitamin pills), an absolute minimum to be able to cope with an ordinary day. It's a lot better in summer (an FMS fact, as i also found out lately).
Doing more physical work requires higher doses, if you don't want to get the pain and fatigue for days afterwards.
It's tricky, because as long as you are active, you don't get really exhausted, but after you stop and start to relax, the hammer comes and hits you.

Warning: Nohomo  is the least funny joke in the universe. It was that unfunny the first time and to this day. Everyone sprouting it over and over thinking its hilarious.

I wasn't aware of it as much as a joke, but more like a statement.

OT: M2 money velocity in the U.S. the lowest point it has even been in recorded history. There is no economic recovery happening.

https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/M2V

But hey, let's just print trillions more of it! Yeah, that'll solve the problem.  Roll Eyes

That low velocity is deceptive, imho.
If and when covid era would be over, one way or another, all those unspent trillions will come to the fore, money velocity will increase first to the baseline and then, if people notice increased inflation, it would go up and up and then we would be in the inflationary crisis. Everything predicts the reversal of the bond market at some point.

Yes but, there are 2 counter forces holding back inflation at the main street level:

1. Personal household debt (highest on record)

2. Capped out wage/salary increases (aka non-existent raises)

As long as both of these factors stay in play, Average Joes cannot afford anything more than essential goods and services and servicing personal outstanding debt (house/car/credit cards/student loan debt). Therefore baseline goods/services inflation will never go anywhere much, but over longer timeframe will continue to eat away at Average Joes' monthly cash flow.

Real asset price inflation (e.g. real estate, stocks, PMs, Bitcoin, fine art/collectibles), however, will continue to skyrocket. Because this is really where all those 'unspent trillions' are going.

JayJuanGee You can propose me a strategy to manage the purchase of BTC from January 2021, I think I will have 3 or 4k to start again, if you have more than 1 or 2 options better, as LFC_Bitcoin does it seems good to me, but I need more options to see more clearly how to do it, if it is with a weekly amount, all in a single purchase, with a monthly purchase.
The easiest thing is to enter with everything but perhaps It is not the best.
Thx, Wink

Wouldn't LFC go all in, and then just put his extra cash flow into BTC as the extra cashflow comes in?  Something like that?

I’d go all in with that cash & then put whatever I can afford monthly after bills & shit into bitcoin also.

Boys, don’t look to me as some kind of bitcoin or investment guru. I’m just a bit of a chancer who got lucky really, nothing I’ve done is through strategic planning. I think I just got lucky, I can tell you first hand that there are people who have more coin than me here.

I most likely will become a multi millionaire by the time this bull run starts moving & at some stage I decide to start selling. If you want my advice it’s just put as much fiat as you physically can into bitcoin before the price goes up even more. A 10 to 20 x profit is possible if you start investing again now VB.

JJG, my strategy now is simple, after selling nothing last time (some might say stupidly) I will sell maybe 25 - 50% of my bitcoin which will set me up for life. I’ll never have to work again, hopefully. The rest of my stash I will HODL for future cycles.

I do have a few ideas as to how I will sustain a nice fiat income by using the money I take from this bull run to help sustain a life. You’re right, I will inevitably pump whatever fiat made from those investments back into bitcoin.

I think Bob said it some time ago, he finds it funny that the fiat he took from selling bitcoin in the past is invested to make more fiat which he invests back into bitcoin. Funny really when you think about it.

If I had a 4 figure bitcoin stash I probably wouldn’t sell any to be honest.

Such wonder and awe,
The Wall Observer exerts,
To those who read it.

A magic shroom thread,
It's got everything covered,
To your heart's delight.

From the ancient Greeks,
And their beautiful sculptures,
To Nietzsche, and more...

Need a guide for drugs?
Wanna see Elvis again?
Instructions are here.

Left-wingers who swear,
Right-wingers who cannot spell,
Blame the cat for that!

It all seems so weird,
Alice In Wonderland stuff...
Down the hole we go!

These are the reasons,
My Ignore List is empty,
And always will be!
