Today, 6 years ago, Hal Finney passed away.

In Jan 2009, Finney predicted that one day #Bitcoin  could be worth as much as $10,000,000 each!

Since then, #BTC  is up 9,000,000%.

Interesting regarding the different kinds of inflation (measured in luxury goods and assets inflation is clearly already there). Printing yourself out of dollar debt through a soft default is a ‘luxury’ the US has, but be aware other countries with a debt in dollars can’t. It is going to be ugly, whenever those seemingly unavoidable days come.

It's a new purchase, and one I am exceedingly delighted with.  It's Bitwig.  Obviously inspired by Ableton Live, but it's hallmarks are being crazily modular in every way imaginable with both standard linear tracking as well as algorithmic  pattern based stuff, or a combo.

That picture is its sampler.  It is very simple, but extremely well thought out at the same time.  In fact that is the sort of theme of the whole thing.  It does NOT have all the features of the top end DAWs but what it does do is amazingly simple and intuitive.  I'd say it is both minimalist, and incredibly tweakable.  I tried Live several times over the years but it just never clicked.  For some reason this one did.

I used so many DAWs over the years.  In fact I did a lot of work in both Cubase and Nuendo.  Both such solid pieces of software.  I also went through a Samplitude period, and had Logic before Apple bought it.  In the end I did most of the work in my studio (when it was still my job) in Sonar believe it or not.  In fact I was a contributor to it.  I made all the impulse responses it came with.  But my close #2 was Reaper.  And now in the wake of the death (sort of) of Sonar, if I do anything in a traditional multitrack setting it's in Reaper.

Oddly the only DAW I never used much was Pro Tools... lol.  I mean I could get around it it, just like I knew what a pair of Mackie HRs sounded like... (But i use Dynaudio).

But the workflow and built in instruments and effects in Bitwig are delightful.

I thought that I had reasonably and even fairly described what appeared you were attempting to accomplish in your earlier post, Torque.

For some reason, you were trying to paint some kind of historical picture of a mythical forum in which earlier members were somehow more united than current members and purportedly singing a kind of kumbaya... which is just nonsense.

In essence, your overly emotional response to my post above seems to be connected to your inability to substantively deal with the way that I had characterized your earlier post...
