If Bloomberg bought bitcoin instead of spending money on his campaign he could have given everyone in the world 21 million bitcoins.

but the math is wrong.. 500 millions / 327 millions is circa 1,5 USD / each .. c'mon! :-)

Maybe the Thai Navy will see the virus as a threat to national sovereignty and threaten it with death.

We just read that in Thailand they are giving everyone 2000 Baht (about $80) to try to get people out shopping and get the economy going.

That's a good chunk of change for most people there, right? Like a few days salary, at least? Here in the Philippines I noticed an uptick in mask wearers today. Sure enough, we got our first 3 non-Chinese cases announced this morning, but they were all in Manila, so...

A woman, maybe about 55-65, was wearing a mask in a restaurant we were eating lunch in, but of course had to take it off to eat the food. It was more of a fashion statement, I suppose. To be consistent, she did also bring her own silverware which she pulled out of a plastic bag in her purse.

Besides a distinct lack of Korean and Chinese tourists (both countries travel banned ATM), the economy here is pretty far from slowing down.

Maybe the Thai Navy will see the virus as a threat to national sovereignty and threaten it with death.

+1 WO merit.

That is mind-bogglingly stupefying.
I think the math is off by 6 zero's. Everyone would get just $1. (the footnote should read: "calculated with my iPhone")

Right, I meant the fact he could spend so much money was mind-boggling, and the error in calculation was stupefying. Not really clear on my part I suppose.

I would have preferred if he did a $1,000,000 lottery to 500 lucky people, or $100,000 to 5,000. In any case, all he really got for his trouble was a bunch of jokes from Trump about his height. I hope nobody actually gives him a cabinet position. He could be ambassador to Monaco, though.

Corona update from the road. Taking a short detour to kuala lumpur before heading back to thailand for another month. On the day I left a car with speakers was driving slowly through the streets informing people about Corona-chan in both english and thai. During the flight one of the staff was spraying something in the whole cabin. Dunno what it was, could be unrelated but I have not seen that before. And finally in the KL airport anyone arriving from thailand had to fill out  a short form stating whether you had been in china or south korea within the last 14 days.

On a small side note, I could not buy a plane ticket on cheapair with plastic because the card is not in my name (don't have a bank account). I could, however, pay with bitcoin. Ten second process and instantly confirmed. Bitcoin is the future, especially as governments and anyone involved in moving money around get more and more draconian.

My wife's mother (in Thailand) is sick. She has no idea if it's Corona.

It is happening.

Today's gonna be an interesting day.

S&P500 already down over 3%. Its currently at 2918. If it goes below 2887, its last local low in early October, that would be quite devastating. It will be interesting to see how BTC is affected. This is an experiment in progress, take notes!

You're never too old to think young.
Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still over $9k I see after a wee dip under and back up... currently $9080USD/$12177CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

No problem.

Hey Jimbo

how is spring training going?

Pretty well so far. Of course the Jays are in the middle of a total rebuild.

The big news is top pitching prospect Nate Pearson who has been dominating. In his first appearance he struck out the side (all Yankee major leaguers) on 12 pitches. He has yet to allow a run in 3 appearances. Many believe he will be a homegrown workhorse ace like Dave Stieb or Roy Halladay.

He's big, has a triple-digit fastball and a hard breaking pitch with tons of late movement and possesses a strong work ethic. He's said to be mature beyond his years. Will hopefully be called up sometime this season. Gotta get that extra year of team control though.

Slugging first baseman Rowdy Tellez has come into camp in much better shape. He only lost a pound but described it as losing 15 pounds of fat and gaining 14 pounds of muscle. He also is realizing he doesn't need to swing for the fences to hit it out. His strength should allow him to tighten up his swing, improve his average to all fields and still get lots of HRs and extra-base hits.

Vladdy Guerrero has also arrived in better shape and is looking to improve on what was for him a disappointing rookie season.

Veteran journeyman Joe Panik, signed to a minor league deal has been impressing everyone with his defense at short and stands a chance to make the team as a utility infielder.

Other than that, it's what you'd expect. Veteran pitchers like Ryu and Shoemaker are working on extending pitch counts, youngsters like Thornton are working on new pitches, and hitters are getting their at-bats.

We'll all see how this works out in 3 weeks. I'll be flying up in time for the home opener. Same seats as the last few years, behind home plate but just enough up the 1st base line that the ump doesn't block my view of the strike zone. Good view of the Jays pen and dugout.

Play ball!

Speaking of the Internet and how shitty it's become with FBIbook, Twitter, Youtube, etc.  I started playing around with LBRY which is on the way to replacing Youtube.

https://lbry.tv

They are getting closer and closer to being as user friendly as Youtube but it is completely decentralized. They use a blockchain backend to track bittorrent files. The more people that use the desktop version, the faster the download speed.

LBRY makes money when you upload your files or videos. I uploaded one for .1 LBRY which is about a tenth of a cent. You get LBRY from watching videos and such. Not a whole lot. You can pay for premium videos with your LBRY credits.

I've tried to move over to blockchain based social media. I tried MINDS for a while as a replacement for Facebook but getting friends and family over to a new platform will be a long process.

Pairing blockchain and bittorrent has a lot of potential. I look forward to playing around with those features.

If Bloomberg bought bitcoin instead of spending money on his campaign he could have given everyone in the world 21 million bitcoins.

I would have definetly voted him with 1 million upfront payment.

Sorry, COVID19 is actually eating my brain.

ok i see you're interested in elites, christine lagard and making money. Watch this video. If you can break the code you'lll probably be rich. She is talking about numerology. She is giving something only a minority of elites can decode watch https://youtu.be/QYmViPTndxw

OK, just to humor you, I watched it. Oddly, I don't recall the world's financial system undergoing a Global Currency Reset on 2014 Jul 20.
If you knew the numerology and the other secret symbols you would know.

I would know ... what, exactly? That a Global Currency Reset is going to happen on 2014 Jul 20?

Quote
It's quite suprising to me that no one finds this unusual to talk publicly about the numerology and decoding at this meeting.

I find the talk of numerology unusual. I get it - Ms Legarde is one of our shapeshifting reptilian alien overlords. But the decoding? Yes, I guess I do find it surprising that a Global Currency Reset is going to happen on 2014 Jul 20.
Nope. The video is from 2014 but she is talking about 7 magical years. The reptilians fake story is similar to the fake flat earth movement. It's a good distraction for most of people to not believe or discover anything about this topic.

Looks like the banks are starting to progress through Kubler-Ross, I believe we are at "anger", soon will follow "bargaining" and eventually "acceptance".

Hate to break it to you but Jeff (Big Lebowski) Bridges was born in 1949, totally Boomer.

Perhaps you should replace him with a picture of Kim Kardashian, born in 1980, totally Generation X.

 Cool

Gen X knows Jeff Bridges as the star man.
