Just looked that up, quite a long read. And yes, the UK does not charge an annual tax for property (land) like Austria (for example) does.

We limeys do pay Council Tax which is banded based on property value, however.

As do we swedes, max 780 USD per annum and some properties are exempt, like some agriculture land for example.

Around here (US) the tax is once a year, about 2% of the total property value (in my state) and the retarded part about it is that they tell you the exact tax at around Nov 15, but you have to shell out the cash by Jan 31. Most people escrow the estimated tax payment together with the mortgage, though.
However, 2% is annoyingly high as they keep bumping the fake house prices up.
Why fake? Because houses sell at the numbers that are lower than citi estimates suggest.

2% of the real market value of the property? Jesus.... what prices do have landlords have to set up to get some reasonable ROI then?

The problem in that case is not that there is a tax but the ridiculously high rate it has.

Why are you making jokes about vegeta? Is it because it's from my community croatia?

Man, if you don't know what Vegeta means to WO, you are really new here...

I bet you don't know about Carolina either...

I can clear this up:
Vegeta is the name of a well known anime character AS WELL as the brand name of a vegetarian spice mix, used mainly to prop up vegetable soup and sauces.
The spice mix is very popular and indeed made in Croatia. SuperTA seems to not know about the anime Vegeta. I also didn't know as long as i didn't enter "vegeta" in google image search.

Understood, but this still isn't an excuse for behaving like a dickhead  Grin

To be fair we can all be asshats at time. Cheesy

Mic is living by the main WO-rule..... don’t quote the tard ....

I  would merit this but i'm down to 1.
Took you long enough.

"Death cross", they said.

Too late, read that like 15 pages back. Tongue

What are you laughing at?  They are a well rounded organization who is recognized globally.  You would be lucky to be included in their sphere... in fact I think if you went to the conference you'd have a ball.

(actually if you did I would come save you from it and find the best place in Big D to get you a White Russian... Wink )

What ru trying to say?

hmm council tax and business rates are almost exactly property tax by another name. bastards.

If they take your property if you don't pay it then it is exactly that.

The recent exceptional spike has pointed out resistance at 10.5k, and, coming below the strong resistance at 13.5k, it is a bearish indicator (in conventional analysis).

No it's not. Hitting resistance on the way to another resistance isn't bearish. It's expected. Any asset emerging from a downtrend is going to hit resistance on the way up.

Did you really expect to go straight to the $13,000s without stopping?

Fair comment. It is the momentum of the move that is unusual.  If 10.5k is tested and broken soon, that is bullish, as with 13.5k.  Those levels were reached by strong upward momentum, so do make for higher hurdles.

there will be none of that unless we hold 9k

So they threw me out...

How do I give them merit?

You can't but i can give you merit, because you are one example for my theory that majority of people are like that, no matter which country or forum.
They also have thread about btc price prediction but they don't like if you are talking too much about the charts and price. They rather have memes, jokes and other unimportant things which are not related to the price prediction. They kicked me out, which i had the most charts and price predictions. But they didn't kick out any trolls. They rather have a good laugh with a bad trades than a serious thread.

Every thread needs someone as wonderful, competent, on topic and always right, such as yourself.  If we were not sure, we should just ask you in order to get confirmation.  You are like medicine, and for our own good.  Cry

Well said JJg.

At least i said 5x times that i'm sorry and i don't call others a bad names like some of you do. You clearly have a problem with other people who might be better than you. I know a lot about psihology. I don't know the english words to describe this but many of you clearly have this problem. Cut everything that's above the average so you don't feel bad or small. I was aware of this so i posted 1 month every day like it's not my prediction thread but from W.O. community. It worked, i got more than 200 merits in a very short time. But i don't need them. I rather have my honest opinion.

I thought I was right once but I was wrong.

I'm surprised no one posted this yets:

Trump Administration Popped 2017 Bitcoin Bubble, Ex-CFTC Chair Says

McAfee/Gabbard 2020

Real life (troubles) got me busy these days, but i came to post that article too. I read it yesterday and it got me so angry, that my limited english language skills wont let me express...

The ones that brag about freedom and protecting the consumer, manipulate you deliberately.

Sad.. i´m really concerned about whats next...

One thing thats disturbing about this is I don't see the outrage, actually I don't even see anything coming from this admission. It's as if no one cares.

Why are you making jokes about vegeta? Is it because it's from my community croatia?

Dude. Please lurk a lot more before further posting. You are dangerously close to being ignored due to your incredible lack of general-awareness.

I already said i'm moving away from this. I just wanted to clear some things before i stop. I will remove myself from W.O. Not kind of thread i was looking for. Too much memes and other not serious stuff and a little real quality price predicting. This thread is more for fun.

There is absolutely ZERO reason it cannot be both.

So, guys, where to sell and where to buy? Asking those who trade. Hodlers seem not to care. They just hold. They probably think at least 100k is guaranteed and because of that they think they dont need any advice.
Holders who get free BTC, They seem not to care.
Any way, who paid cryptotourist?

First correct point of the r0ach been spotted in this thread, first truth....

Indeed I got in BTC by accident whiteout knowing sh*t and cause of poker playing and skills.....
Yes it’s seems weird but I do got some talents that manages me to get some food on my plate....

Then after getting in on BTC by accident a guy hold my hand and helped me around with a lot and learned me very much.....

Then still after this .... I’m still the one that needs to hold and not sell, so the main thing of importance still needs to been done by me Cheesy

Ain’t I doing a good job?

So, you invested 0$ in BTC and you tell us to invest in BTC. Bitch

Everything has a value, not everyone will value it.   I dont like expensive blue (mouldy?) cheese or alot of the deep red wines or those funny oil paintings but they are all worth and cost to make hundreds no doubt.
Give me some simple cheddar, melted, light white wine and a pencil shading is far better imo but value can be ironic I guess.

He said "to the government/state" (quoting from memory). Wink
And not paying it doesn't mean they take your land, they will take a lot of other things and auction them of to get the money though, and whats left over will be returned to you.

^This.

Plus the council tax is one of the few that make some sense.... ie: If you don't have any income you don't need to pay any taxes for that (income) but if you do have a property in the middle of an urban area you surely do benefit from having streets, roads, public lighting, garbage collection, etc all being maintained and paid by the council collected taxes.

You can always go buy land in some remote area miles away from any urban place and pay no or negligible taxes.

I would love to pay no taxes for sure but some things are reasonable (as soon as the tax-fee/benefit ratio is).

I don't think it would be much different for a "seasteading community"... you could always place your seastead in the middle of the ocean hundreds of miles from anything.... but if some several individuals decide to create a joint community of seasteads they would probably organise themselves into some sort of council (even if informal) and pool resources/money to take advantage of sharing costs of common infrastructures (if any) or services. That doesn't mean you don't own your seastead.

As I am not a programmer nor expert in crypto, I have arrived at HODLing some 1% (of my net), the minimum that JJG suggests above.  1% is probably close to what I understand BTC to be.  Risks and rewards are both high.  1% is the right amount for me in that if BTC price craters, it changes very little for me.  If it climbs to a nice ATH, well great!

If you're only willing to put 1% of your money in something, it's definitely not an 'investment'.  A high risk, pump and dump scam maybe, but only willing to risk 1% is not an investment.  To me the word investment implies you actually have confidence in what you're purchasing, and 1% is not confidence.  That would be gambling, not investing (from the relative viewpoint of the individual).

Actually, according to my economics 101 class the only investment a private person can make is purchase of real estate, everything else is consumption.

So they can only invest in something they do not own.

You own real estate don't you?

You rent/lease real estate from the government.

Try not paying your "rent" some time and see if you own it.

I honestly don't know what you are talking about Elwar, I own real estate and i pay no rent nor enything else to the government or the state.
Could you please elaborate.

Nice. What magical land do you live in where the government does not take money from you for owning property?

Sweden

In Canadistan we pay property tax based on a market value assessment of your property and a mill rate set by the local municipal government.  It's somewhere between 1 and 2 percent of your property value annually, billed quarterly (roughly) but the full amount is generally due before October.

I don't know nuttin' 'bout no conventional analysis, so I'll just ask. Does conventional analysis really consider a positive overshoot spike the same as being rebuffed at a resistance level?

No.  I would think a positive overshoot (to use that term ) would be making new highs , either above resistance, or ATH.

The value of silver and gold is also imaginary.   Pretty much true for all forms of money unless you can eat it or at least use it to clean yourself!
