Edit: this graph has no sense in my opinion
Italy has 2,450 tons of gold (71458330 Troy oz) this equates to 100 billions @1,500 usd oz (various sources confirm this calculations).
This should be roughly 10,000,000 bitcoins @10,000 btc usd.
Am I missing something?

It is probably calculated from other side, not from the price but from holdings. They summed all gold that countries (probably they did not count holdings of individuals) hold and then gave them share of 17 ( or maybe 21) million Bitcoin.

Even with all that i still miss the part where China is somehow better??

Yes, it is already better! Facts are stubborn things, right?

The "totalitarian communist regime" in China is advocating for open borders and free trade. The "beacon of democracy and leader of the free world" USA (aka United Sanctions of America) is imposing tariffs, sanctioning everybody they can think of, building walls, and bombing independent nations (too weak to retaliate) into the Stone Age just because they don't share their cowboy values. The "totalitarian communist regime" in China pulled 1 billion citizens out of poverty and created massive middle class during the last 20 years. The "land of the free" during this same time successfully killed big chunk of their middle class and created the biggest income gap between the rich and the poor the world has ever seen.

Becoin, do you choose to ignore this satanic injustice of communist Chinese?

WO / Aug update - 2019

The holidays are over, now the battle is coming until the end of the year.

It does feel a little quiet in here these days. It looks like the summer vacation trend supersedes the price-comment correlation.

Yes, i see BTC as the digital gold. Maybe all future e-currencies are valued against Bitcoin, why not?
Most people in my environment are dumb, they call BTC a hoax. My brother in law wanted to invest in Bitcoin when it was around $350, and his father talked him out of it, into some kind of fund-based asset (i don't know the english term for this). He called his father an idiot in 2017, of course, but the latter still thinks he was right. This is the second "nearly"-coiner i knew to date. The other one had Bitcoins, but only for Silkroad and the likes. He never held them longer than for some weeks.
When you even talk about Bitcoin here, you are suspect to criminal activity, money laundering or you are seen as a moron who wants to lose all his money. They think it's child play, regardless what the facts are, they always know better. This is normality where i live, i am the megageek. I'm skateboarding at age 40+, i'm living on passive income, so i got that "strange freak that does not go to work" image and most people are intimidated by my presence, excluding very few, close friends and family members.
My mother and my wife are the only persons that know that i got the corn. The average IQ in my neighborhood can't be much more than a weak 90 at max.
A guy like RealRoach would be a respected mayor candidate of the town i'm living in. Time went on, in other parts of my country, not so much where i made myself a home   Roll Eyes

I really would like to know where you are living bro.... Can you give us a hint?

but I haven't seen any execution attempts

You haven't seen because there is no freedom of speech. What did happen to Assange when he exposed not only execution attempts but real executions?

In the land of the free you're free to be homeless and unemployed. You're free to talk whatever you want if nobody is listening to you. As soon as you apply logic and facts and gather some crowd around that is listening you're accused of using hate speech. To ask questions and be critical is already a synonym of hate speech. Your Visa and Mastercard are blocked, your Facebook, Youtube and Twitter accounts removed. Would be interesting to see what Alex Jones has to say about freedom of speech and freedom of press? This is not a democracy, this is a pure blend of hypocrisy!

It is amusing to see how brainwashed people react to reality, but lets not use this forum for political arguments. Lets stick to bitcoin!

This is what happens to political dissidents in prc:

the biggest problem in China is lack of freedom of speech.

The most famous political dissidents and political prisoners of our time are not in China. The most famous political dissidents and political prisoners of our time are Julian Paul Assange and Edward Joseph Snowden. Why is the regime in Washington trying to kill them if they do care about freedom of speech?

They are 'most famous' because of freedom of speech.

Additionally: 'Trying to kill them'?  Heavy handed prosecution is distasteful, yes - but I haven't seen any execution attempts - this seems a false assertion.

The United States of America is home to 4% of world's population and home to 25% of the world's PRISON population. The US is the most totalitarian state nowadays!

Quote
China is stupid extreme, 99.9% of convictions are found guilty, it is not a free and just society in the slightest,

Theres an argument for failings in every country, the biggest problem in China is lack of freedom of speech.   We cant know the full picture, I dont live there and I dont have relatives living there but from what I can make out over the years its not a place I want to end up really.    It might be fine for most of the time but I'd be scared of the lack of oversight that a free press gives, this cant be played down.    Freedom of the press is a vital adjustment in every country to all kinds of failings that occur regularly.

The point of USA having the largest prison population percentage is I believe its linked to large debt.   Theres a danger that imprisonment monetizes each unit detained so that now its worth while keeping that person in prison, theres an economy set in motion by this politics of law enforcement.   Of course crime has to be controlled but also money so freely available to me explains why is such a large % of population detained is so far ahead of every other country.
This is a false economy as clearly someone not working requiring great security 24/7 is a massive cost to society but combined with massive fiscal debt it could be disguised and encouraged even.    I'd like to hear this has been investigated and at least weighed as a probable influence in extended terms.    Overall I believe the massive debt built up is causing many bubbles and distortions in the economy, in society that are not profitable  and damage the country even.
I relate it to this https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/08/broken-window-fallacy.asp

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/alabama-man-spent-36-years-behind-bars-after-stealing-50-n1048266
This is a story I read too often, I know people can do stupid things when their young especially and some of my friends are gone and passed in their 20's because of such stupidity but I still dont see the point of 35 years detained.

BTC remains low and below previous range of peak pricing,  I'd like to see it make a run at 50 day average and we can measure its strength better by that reaction.
