Either hit the damn market or fuck off.

I am starting to buy my last block before Halving Day and don't need any front running bullshit to screw my average.

Don't mind me guys, just placing an order for Mitt Romney.

haha, in case they missed it. =)

Don't you have to have the funds to back the order in Mt. Gox?

I've send question about this to gox support. Will let you know what's the answer.

if mt-gox responds with anything other then

" we placed that fake wall their in order to get more trade volume, because we are getting hacked left and right and need huge amounts of trade volume to stay alive"

they are lying

After the crash last month from 15.XX USD and just before Pirate officially defaulted, about 100k BTC in SELL orders were placed (and most still are) spread out from 10$ to 13$. You can still see those in the order book.
This could be the same guy (Arrrrrh) trying to entice people to buy up his orders already, so that he can repeat.
Just a thought.

Don't let this wall manipulate you.

This guy obviously has no intention of actually purchasing the coins.

Whatever the reason, I'm fairly confident that this is the biggest wall of USD we've ever seen. It's over 1,5 million dollars. Makes me think it's someone who also has coins and wants to sell them but who knows. It's interesting.

Why would you do this?

While we've had volume of the sort, that order causes... uh... interesting side-effects. What is it with the large-money guys frequently showing such disruptive behavior? Just an attempt of order-book manipulation? Anyone knowing Bitcoin exchanges should know that such orders have worse chances of getting filled than just spreading it out over time.

BTC sellers have sometimes done the same, remember when 300k were sold in mere hours last year? For whatever reason, it always happens at the most absurd times.
