Eventually, sure. But we're probably at the early stages of a major correction that will last for months. Retouching $2 is still not out of the question.

I hope others are appreciating the irony of Proudhon's bear being up for the ENTIRE BULL market, and now what one DAY after he changes it we have either a major correction or the start of a bear market!

But the buzz only picked up recently... Would be interesting to see any concrete numbers on that.

As the theory goes a ponzi needs exponential growth so it would make sense a good chunk of his coins were accumulated very recently. I don't know how much but I think it was enough to lift us into rally mode. Of course there were people jumping on the train to ride it for just the value increase of bitcoins.

You underestimate the greed of his "investors". I'd bet there were enough people buying additional bitcoins they wouldn't have otherwise bought just to give them to pirate. That the bulk of his bitcoins was acquired before june I am hearing the first time, where you got that from?

+1 people are boneheads. I'd hazard to 'guess' that 80% or more of he coins invested with Pirate were already in investors' wallets to start with...

Not really. I went in to daytrading mode. Since I sold at 12.80, I'm happy. This rally will bounce back. I'm just glad I have bitcoins instead of USD now.
