It's amazing.
After that sell-off its looking at punching $95 again...

I'm sorry, but which ticker are you looking at? Bitcoinity for me is reading $89. I hope you are right, of course. I'd hate to wake up to find it at $60/btc.

Thinking about cashing out for the weekend. Thoughts?

I disagree, that would be suicidal.

Very well may be, which is why I would only do small amounts  Grin

Are we into the Cryptocurrency Wars now? Litecoin advocates tryna step up?

Look closely between 3PM and 7:30PM...

someone(people) knew...

may be a good indicator of imminent corrections going forward.

Yeah I'm thinking the Litecoiners are trying to orchestrate selloffs to boost Litecoin's value. They've been very aggressive on /r/Bitcoin recently. They must include some early Bitcoin adopters who are envious that they weren't the super-early adopters, so they may still have a ton of Bitcoin to play with.

Possibly... hadn't even thought of that.

I was thinking more along the lines of someone smartening up and using LTC as a hedge against BTC without having to deal with goxx issues and pay less fee's. In all honesty, I'll probably start testing this out.

Man, bids so close to 10mil USD.  Again, despite being a bull I'm surprised at this bullishness.

This is a possibility.  Anyone who tries to "promote" litecoins are either stupid or trying to take advantage of stupid people.  There is no other type.

Hello. I see that you've predicted that the $/btc will be less than $50 in two weeks. You seem like a very intelligent man. Would you like to make a small bet with me?

How about a large bet? Smiley

How much is large?

Would 20 btc  each be large enough?

I'm in. Signed and sealed.

See you on April 12th.

Seems like someone is about to get a scammer tag!

We need escrow.

I can escrow these bets for you using Casascius' escrow system as used in this bet between mrb and micon if anyone's interested.

I doubt BitcoinTip is serious; he seems to just like the attention his words get him.  But if anyone wants me to escrow a bet, I'll do it for free.

Yes, so you are essentially saying that coins transferred from ealry adopters into the hands of later adopters, right?

A clearer picture could be done if we use the power function of time factor in the calculation of the days destroyed metric instead.

Agreed.
I think a power function was suggested a couple of months ago, but I have not seen stats done. Would be much more useful info for Bitcoin than the exhaustive analysis of SD bets/returns which goes on.

I think it's interesting that we see these flash crashes but not so much the opposite, the price running up crazy followed by a rapid return to normal. I'm sure it means something, probably about psychology & stuff. If I believed in TA, I might name it something and spout some mumbo jumbo...

I think this behavior is evidence that the distribution of coins is still skewed towards a few hundred early adopters who had the foresight to stockpile. After every major climb some cashing out is done. This is encouraging though:

Why don't you check the all-time chart? At this price the recent peak values should have been way higher than the 2011 peaks, but the truth is the opposite.

Because the long-term chart may be even more misleading. Reason is that the cashing-out done in 2011 will have put coins from very large stockpiles into the hands of new buyers. Some of whom will also have stockpiled, but generally that peak created many smaller stockpiles in many more hands. Ideally we need a 2-year filter on blockchain.info which would help give a clearer picture.
