There are also some bears, like Proudhon, preaching the theory that a few people controlling large amount of bitcoins which they bought at very low prices are going to cash out at anytime, in that case I would say let the dump come then, for the general safety of the system, the bitcoins must be distributed as even as possible, so the sooner the dump, the better.

It is happening. After June 2011, this month has had a record day for coins coming out of cold storage onto the market...

Very good discovery, thanks. But does it have to do with the coins being stored twice as long that the number is so high, yet the amount of coins is not as large as it was in June 2011?

Don't underestimate the potential news coverage resulting from breaking the all time high. It can be wide reaching. That is speculation though, we will see after we actually break the all time high.

And that might be the point where I'm going to move over to Adams side. News hype taking bitcoin from 32 to 50+ in 1-2 weeks? That'll look like a bubble to me. We're not there yet, though and I figure there will be quite some resistance before we break the alltime high.

Last time price went from $24 to $32 in 4 hours. So this time IS different. Tongue
I love you because you understand.

THEN: Fast, from less than $5 to the all time high in a month. Whimsical, silly times.

NOW: Slow (comparatively), from around $10 to the current price in 4 months. Solid, like my dick. Green metropolis w/ consistently higher volume.

There is a TA metric to watch for that, called the "Ease of Movement", which is roughly defined as the price change divided by volume.  If you look at this chart http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/mtgoxUSD#igDailyztgSzm1g10zm2g25zxzi1gEMVzv, you will see that what goes up too fast, must comes down similarly fast, but if it doesn't go up too fast, then the dip is unlikely to be too rapid.

How many of you bears have seen a bubble? I mean a real, soap bubble? A real bubble is not going to let out some air then re-expand before it bursts OK? The price has been moving up at a way lower speed in comparison to the June 2011 bubble, with quite a few dips here and there, it looks much more solider. You can't just randomly draw a line and say the price will stop here, with some circumstantial evidences, most of which applies to when it was at $15, $20, $25  And no, I am not saying a bubble will not form and will not crash some time later.

believe wtv you want and let the market forces move the market.

That's what I am looking for to call a top to this bull-run. Which is why $27.50 was a road-bump, not the top.
It really does look like a spike into the mid-30s would occur, at least, before a medium-turn downtrend happens.

that's the thing everyone seems to say, it will go UP UP UP and THEN go back to a reasonable level.

its a bubble GTFO b4 its to late!
