Why the fuck didn't I buy at $50.

I had fiat ready but thought it would go lower.

Could have doubled up again already. Fuck.

That's what everyone is going to be thinking pretty soon here. I expect a lot of panic buying Sunday if we're still $90+ through the weekend.

has any one else noticed that there hasn't been
a single transaction on the network for almost an hour!
http://blockchain.info

what could this mean?

It would mean that the blockchain update client is down.

Gox is the ultimate way of money laundering.

"Where did that money come from??"

"Oh, um, I bought at $110, then moved my coins to Bitcoin China, sold, it crashed, bought again, moved it back to Gox, now its at $100, bought, oh yea, did I mention thats from a different account? Oh and I put it through a mixer on the way to and from Bitcoin China... sorry if this is confusing..."

stop tempting me to offer this as a darknet service.

While we were talking about all the crazy things happening at the exchanges, did anyone notice the price almost doubled today? Nice to see it in three digits again.

Must have happened on my way home. Woot! I get to post this again...

The only thing we had to learn was that the whole sell-off was completely irrational and overdone. Bitcoin has the potential to turn markets on its head and is going to be worth billions upon billions of dollars in the nearby future. Since it had to start at zero, a huge price increase has always been inevitable. There never has been a single good reason for the market to go down, other than a stupid, irrational panic.

There WAS one - proudhon kept saying it would go down, in every single post.

EDIT: Nvm, I noticed you said "good" reason.  Grin Grin Grin

A few of my stock 'good reasons:'

-Savings deposit confiscation that has been introduced in multiple countries is reversed
-Cyprus deposits are returned immediately
-Governments and central banks stop being evil and corrupt
-Fiat money stops being printed
-An incestuous gay porn video is released featuring Ron Paul, Rand Paul, and Paul Krugman (Titled: "Paul On Paul On Paul")

Single digits? Completely worthless Bitcoins are always on the horizon. Everything you think is stable and normal in your life can change at the drop of a hat. The universe is chaos (even if we do our best to find order). That doesn't mean I feel the need to put it in every post. Why do you?

ITT: Holliday gets DEEP on proudhon.

Proudhon did that send you into a period of quiet self-reflection?

Even silk road would have to buy back in if they haven't done already. At least at some point all the speculators that exited at a price should buy back in or loose out! watch out here comes explosive 300....

That's the second time I've heard that Silk Road was a major seller yesterday. Is there any evidence of this?

Personally, I find it most unlikely that Dread Pirate Roberts would dump like that. A few hundred BTC/day, sure, but thousands at a time?. He's too smart.

Can they really stay out of this? this ultimate laundry machine called an exchange?

Speculation and dumping aside, they sell with many accounts worldwide and buy with 5-10 more from other exchanges. trace that...

the recovery speed is amazing. I thought the market would need a week for this.

The bitcoin market is the fastest I have ever seen (20+ years trading).
Big spreads, big moves all happening at Internet speed.

Remember it is a true global 24 hour market.

with newbies throwing their money in half heartattacked, half jerking off.
and professionals pulling one trap after trap, shaking the trees and just opening their hands.
 24/7 realtime bloodbath is that.
...but funny to watch when you'r just in hold position.
