So you're saying it's a steal at $17.90 per coin? Grin
Well if $18 falls....

A mere 5k bull snack between here and $18.

Now 3700 BTC until past $18.

Something is digging under those walls.

I realize everytime this site is slow to respond there seems to be a rally and just looked over at the Gox and it seems new highs are happening.

could be that bitcointalk.org is the main news source for the financial guys. meanwhile there should be professionels involved in the game.
It could be,however it seems rather clear it is more than one person co-ordinating the effort.Hmmmm,I wonder if anyone can put something up like a time based site stat between each major rally....the results might be interesting.I also noticed exact same thing when Pirate was around many moons ago.

"the geeks have no idea what they invented".

In which way?

in the sense that geeks can read the code, understand that there is something there, but fail to comprehend the economic implications of what has been created.

Nah, I think Satoshi knew exactly what he was creating.  You don't just come up with a new form of currency unless you are really into monetary theory.

yes, i am being a bit inconsistent when i generalize to "geeks".  i don't literally mean all geeks in deference to guys like smoothie.  he gets it.  and i do think Satoshi clearly knew what he was creating.

what i mean is that plenty of ppl describe Bitcoin as for "geeks" only.  this clearly is not the case as not all geeks understand what's been created even though they can read code and understand a bit about economics.

Bitcoin is the philosophers stone?

It seems to me that you have to be really geeky if you put your hard-earned fiats into a monetary experiment just for the "geek factor" of it.

I recently read the history of U.S declaration of independence and am wondering what variety of motives would later historians attribute to the early adopters, like what historians today are doing to the founding fathers.

Hey hey hey,

Stop stereotyping!

I understand. Well at least I think I do. Future implications far out, hard to comprehend but over the course of a few years...not so hard.  Grin Grin Grin

Really, this isn't good.  The coming crash is going to be really bad.  But, I guess that's how this thing is gonna go for a looooong time.  2 steps forward, 1.9 steps back.

as the years go by.... Roll Eyes

In all seriousness, we're bubbling up again.  And the result is going to be another crash that puts bitcoin back some years...again.  There's nothing that can be done about it, I'm just pointing out the obvious.

read your quote from this post of mine.  this is back when the price was $2.

In which way?

The disruptive way?

Yeah I'm quite sure they have every idea this is what they created in that respect. A shit ton of research, thought, time and effort went into this original code. So much so that I'm beginning to doubt it was even possible for one person to do it alone.

Yeah, but like all great inventions, it may end up being used in places and by people least expected.
