Check the date. Wink

Yea, August 23, 2013.

Bitmit.net was sold earlier and now up for sale again, or shutdown.
Was it sold twice already?

With a good escrow service, bitmit is not needed as much. You could, hypothetically speaking, conduct auctions or sales, on a more popular web based forum, for example. *cough* https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=73.0 *cough*. Although bitmit does make it easier to locate items for sale, and its ability to filter by country is also good.

Auctioning on forum will never be so good as on site like bitmit. I really don't want to see bitmit fall to point of no return, but tosaki is doing his best to do so...

if tosaki isn't answering at all, he and his service deserve to get some heat. it's a free market and as you can see in my sig i still consider his the best option but i'm happy to jump on any competition that raises above his currently poor reputation. if he speaks up and deals with his customers, he deserves all the fame for his great service. if he disappears leaving the server to rot, i hope for competition.

As for competition, I would like to see an escrow service that uses multi-signature transactions. https://blockchain.info/wallet/escrow - while you still need to trust that the escrow service has a fair and independent resolution process, if I understand correctly the escrow service can't disappear with the funds. Unless they manage to somehow conspire with one of the parties.

Can you please rename or close this thread? It is definitely damaging Bitmits good reputation. Please remove at least the "warning" tag.

We will publish information about our company and future of Bitmit soon so dont worry!

I am assuming this quoted email was sent as a PM  from tosaki to BTCGOLD?

"Bitmits good reputation" was already destroyed before this thread was opened. I would say the reputation was very much damaged when the message quoted here was posted: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitmit-is-closing-119334

A statement was needed as soon as bitmit.net was sold, giving full details of the sale. Or if it was never sold, a statement was needed as soon as people started expressing doubts clearly saying so. As a start, a statement is needed along the lines of: I am from
, and I have owned bitmit since , where I obtained it by .

His attempts to delete/hide information posted here don't help his cause.

One of the most interesting features of bitmit is its escrow service. Unfortunately an escrow service is useless if people can't trust it. At the present time nobody can trust bitmit because nobody knows how owns it. How do we know he isn't related to the buyer? Or the seller? Any settlement involving disputes could be biased. Or he could disappear with the funds entirely.

In addition to the above, I think the information on the escrow service is lacking. http://www.bitmit.net/en/info/13/bitmit-bitcoin-escrow-service . e.g. how are difficult disputes resolved (e.g. insufficient evidence to tell who is telling the truth)? One extremely well known not-bitcoin service has a reputation of ruling in favour of the buyer. What does bitmit do? This uncertainty, IMHO, also affects the credibility of bitmit.

I'd like to publicly state that I have had no trouble accessing escrowed coins once released after the recent revelations. I would however like to state it again: Whoever is running bitmit needs to release information about himself publicly, you are undoutably seeing less escrow revenue by now. Since afterall whats the point of an anonymous escrow ?

well I don´t understand everything, because my english knowns are shit and because I not read all the post.

But I want to buy something in bitmit, its secure?
Second, I accurately wanted to buy a object of the creator of the post, but this guy have prices very very lows, no shipping tax, and he dont have ID verification and don´t do scrow. Its all very suspect, he has seven comments all in two days one month ago and nothing more, alls of selling similar objects(gold and silver).

I think that he is the one who should apply the phrase "some unknown guy is holding OUR money right now" because all his acc smells scam or fraud or however it's said..

Not checking your facts I agree you should be cautious. If you want to buy silver at almost no risk, buy my silver. It's auctions starting at 1€ for stuff that has metal worth of far more. I was forced to use escrow so youI might loose your 1€ to the site owner but at least then we know he's the scammer Wink

Why would a guy from Germany name himself tosaki and then sell everything to another guy from China?

Why would a guy from Canada name himself usagi and pretend to be a girl called Serena?

So usagi acquired Bitmit?

Oh, god. What if THE ASIANS acquiring bAsic are usagi and his multiple personalities?  Shocked

You just blew my mind man.
