I was useing coins-e.com on the 2013 til mid of 2014,
as far as i can say, it was the fasted exchange i ever have used !!
I deposited and only minutes after, i was able to trade the coins.
Also for the withdraws, you could easly copy the transaction id from lets say blockchain.info and paste it on coins-e -> Coins would have been withdrawn very fast

So now, i tryed to login but i had to see, that the exchange isnt online any more?

So i checked the forum and saw, that MANY MANY PPL are reporting this shit.

So what to do? Are my coins lost?
I was reading about 2 ppl haveing minimum 30BTC togehter in this exchange, this is more than 12,000 USD !!!!!!!
Please help
Nothing you can do about it, the support is dead with no one is helping you there
That's why i never recommend people to keep their money on an exchange, it's risky and sad to say that your money are lost this way Sad

This is indeed unfortunate there is little we can do on things if you are living in another country, you will have to fly to that exchanges location to file charges, this is a big lesson learn, and this is one of the risk in this industry..

I don't understand why you guys don't use the exchange anymore but still haven't withdrawed the money? You haven't learnt the MtGox lessons yet.
Some people doesn't learn until bad things happens to them
While the others probably never heard of Mt.gox tragedy Tongue

Is the website coins-e or e-coins?
They are pretty similar in names and i think i got it mixed up
Huh

Hi,

I had the same situation, I was using this site for some time and suddenly my account was blocked with the message "this account has been deleted by the user" I opened many tickets and tried to contact Saif, but nothing.
I had almost 14 BTC in the site. If someone is trying to do something, let me know through this site.

Same here.

It definitely seems defunct.  But I got such a kick out of this that I had to share.  It seems my account was being hacked before I even created it.  lol

Most of the coins I have there are practically worthless now. However I have roughly one Litecoin there, which isn't much, but it's the principal of the thing that I object to.

I notice you posted in the relaunch thread. The OP of that 2013 thread never had his problems resolved and states the number of coins he lost. Some others say they eventually got to withdraw their coins, but I suspect it could have been soon after the relaunch to encourage new users to make deposits.

A more recent thread was started by another user who also lost his coins there.

There is yet another old thread full of the same type of complaints with some specific numbers of lost coins stated.

How long have you been using that exchange? Since 2013, users are reporting that it is a scam. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/beware-of-coins-e-they-are-stealing-coins-from-the-users-294224

If you know the owner, contact the local authorities and force the issue to the owner. You have evidences at hand, so it shouldn't be a problem to ask for help with the authorities.

Ok it might help if others could provide a list of how many coins they lost with these scammers. I'll compile a list and then see if it can be reported to the authorities.

Here's the list thus far:

Achillez = 140k quarkcoin (1.08BTC)

I had the same experience, I tried withdrawing some coins but never got them even after contacting support. I considered tracking down the company owner and complaining to the authorities but I only have a small amount of coins stored there and decided against it.

I'd say yes contact the authorities because I'm also sure these guys are playing this game with *many* people. I would complain myself but I don't have enough available time.

Summary is that I traded quarkcoin on this site last year. I logged in later this year and decided to withdraw after hearing users were having issues. I started to withdraw my 300k quark. The odd thing is that after a couple test withdrawals of 5k, the big withdrawals (10k or more) stalled out. They would sit there for "days" in the system. I tried contacting the admin but no response, tried submitting tickets no response. Finally I emailed Saif and sent him a variety of emails. After a couple weeks he responded and sent me a few quark (I think it was like 50k). I said thanks but asked for the full amount. More delays... many weeks later gives me another 50k. Once again I said thanks but asked for the full amount (about 140k). No response for "months". Meanwhile I find that my account on coins-e says it's been deleted by user. Actually it says something stupid like "This account haven been delete by the user".

From reading other postings I'm pretty sure this site is MTGox'ing people. It's based in Canada, Saif lives in Canada. I'm thinking of contacting the authorities to escalate this. Any thoughts on yay or nay on this? I have full logs of my transactions, and snapshots of my account because I figured they'd do something fishy.  It's not the $ I care about but rather the principal of the matter. I'm sure these guys are playing this game with *many* people.
