Such websites seem to be quite real but it can be only identified by the domain name. So before you log in, make sure that you are on the real website.
Whenever the price of a coin goes up, scammers try to deceive people by targeting that coin. These fake websites look a lot like real websites. I think this problem can be skipped a lot if we bookmark the original website. Because when we do google search, many results are found. As a result, the wrong website may be visited.
It's annoying to deal but we have to live with it as every time market awakens numerous fraudulent idea basically target the users. There no other way but individual consciousness only help us. I do something very similar, bookmark all the essential site that I used to visit regular. It helps me lot.

Is there any risk if you go to these sites but don't type in your seed?  Like do they give malware/trojan/keylogger just for visiting the site?  Does it download anything automatically to your computer when you go to these sites?
There's no risk if you dont do anything or just simply surfing it out, the risk is on when you do believe that this is the legit site and you had type the seed or key of your own wallet
which means you had been phished.

This is a common scenario where scammers or hackers do really make use of this bait where noobs is usually been the victim due to lack of knowledge or simply
trusting up sites that do pop out on google search.

People should really be using up their common sense if they wont like to lose money.

now that Ethereum climbs so high ? sure that MEW will be another target again , back in the past when the increase happens in 2018 ? there are so many hack attempts and some had succeeded that's why MEW had tighten their security and the result is the updated site of them now.
Good thing that i have using Ledger Nano now so all my assets are safer not like in the past that exchange is the main target and yeah they won over many users and taken their coins with huge amount.

Now I am using rather Metamask than MyEtherWallet, but  in times when my main wallet was MEW I've always downloaded latest release from MEW github repository and launched it locally. This is only one really safe way to ensure your security.. there was even an issue with original MEW domain, which DNS was hacked and pointed to another server and many people lost their coins.
So if you are using MEW always launch it locally using files from github!!

I also remember the time when I just started to get acquainted with the world of cryptocurrencies and used only MyEtherWallet, sometimes it was very difficult, especially when it was necessary to do token SWAP. Plus, I was constantly afraid of phishing and checked the reliability of MyEtherWallet several times before the transaction. Then I installed Metamask and token transfers became much easier.

Myetherwallet has now become a lot of phishing targets so we don't do more research so we will be fooled by losing lots of assets, therefore we only people who understand and can do this are careful.
Sometimes now sending tokens is simpler because there are already many wallets in the form of applications that are widely available on the PlayStore, even I am more comfortable using TrustWallet compared to other storage, it will make it easier for us and won't get caught in the many scattered phishing sites.

Good catch OP and thanks for warning us. Scammers are always trying to harm us in one way or another. After reporting, one website was shut down, but after a few days, scammers are opening new websites again. We have no choice but to be vigilant to protect our asset.

Thanks for reporting this scam website.

Only solution is to learn how to bookmarked the right website, and don't click on suspicion email as that's one of the method scammers are doing to direct us on a phishing site, and sometimes we don't look at the URL and we are eager to enter our private key.

I know entering the private key is very risky, but personally I'm still doing it, I just double check the site even if I have already bookmarked it.

Thanks for heading this up, crypto related website full of phising and fake one, I bookmark site like MEW, even though often use metamask.
Hacker, scammer will find another way to steal user money that's why we need to find the safe way to access our crypto asset.
Bookmarking is smOrt, though these treacherous people online are also getting smarter. That's why hardware wallets are a thing, it increases your security and decreases your chances of getting phished. However, it's still not safe from theft. Such is life. There's also MEW app which you can get from the Play Store, though I haven't used it, I think it's still safer from the browser's MEW.

~snip~
MyEtherWallet becomes an easy target from the hackers and scammers over the years , I can't remember how many times that fake sites like this comes out towards MEW , because even their Own site had become hacked also in the past.
So better for us to keep safe , always Bookmark the site or be particular ine very small details in our search bar so we can hide from being a victim.
Laziness will make us lose our funds .
It's true that there's a bunch of fake website out there using the same page design such as the MEW frontpage. If a person is not so familiar or good with technical stuff like knowing the right address he would be an easy target. So before anyone else suffer from any loses due to inexperience please do some research first if you have a doubt that you might be one of the target of any fraud.

And that's right, always bookmark or save the website name to avoid confusion in the future because scammer/hackers are always planning to get your money if you don't pay attention to every details. They were getting smart everyday in order to steal someone's property.

Years ago I installed an extension named "EtherAddressLookup" on my Chrome browser to prevent from accidentally clicking a fake links. In 2017 there's so many reports about people who are got hacked and lost their eth just by clicking a phishing website that have similar name with myetherwallet.
This extension works very well and blocked all fakes (website, crypto twitter accounts, etc.), Also you can report any domain directly just by clicking one button everytime you enter a fake website.

The perpetrators of fraud will not be one to create a phishing site, they will certainly spread more MEW phishing sites and of course if we are careless and don't pay attention to the domain then we will be trapped in it, the most important thing is we have to save the original MEW site so that it doesn't get wrong access sometimes viruses love to spread on our PCs and get us wrong on other counts therefore it is a good catch that you have found a lot about sobering a lot of people.

I'm getting use to it mate because for my years here in crypto there are tons of Ether fake sites
that is the same reason why i did Saved the original etherwallet site in all my gadget and even saved to my Email so in any chance that i have reformat my gadget i still have the link site because there are really too many hackers and fake sites that targeting Ethereum users specially like this time that the value is really getting higher.
for old users of mew wallet we are aware with whats original and fake but this post are helpful mostly for new users of mew wallet so that they will know how to differentiate .

i like what you did of saving the mew link but bookmarking is also easy and as long as you are logon your account in your browser and have them automatically sync, you can always carry your bookmarks with you . i dont save mew link but i save my mew private keys on different devices but not in email.

Similar websites are opening every day. Phishing is the easiest scam method in the cryptocurrency world for years.
You need to check the name of the website not only when logging into myetherwallet, also when logging into all your exchange accounts. You could lose all your money due to just a few letters difference

Quite surprise that others are ended up on the phishing site. I mean, these sites aren't even searchable on search-engine sites.

Or maybe those fraudsters spamming the link either thru unsolicited DM on social media platforms (as I doubt they have an access on email database related to crypto platforms). But still, are there really people clicking it instead of typing manually the URL or via search engine sites?

Anyhow, be vigilant. Phishing is here with us for a long-time now so I'm expecting that only few newbies will still fall on that. Always treat your private keys as special and important so always be careful inputting it to elsewhere (in case of accessing MEW via private keys).
