From everything read its obvious your coins are long gone and there is nothing any one can do about it and these are the things we will continue to face without government coming into place. In as much as Government regulation will come with some drawbacks it will still cut the excesses of all this shady exchange sites. With government intervention, I see them meeting some specific conditions before allowing to operate guaranteeing the funds of traders in addition to regular oversight on their activities thereby making them responsible.

I can only second the previous comments. My Litecoins were also frozen in 2014. Never got any response on any of my emails, not a single. The promised to return the litecoins over time, after two months they stopped. Now they claim they pay interest. This can only be to attract funds being deposited. I warn everyone to be very, very careful whatever amount you decide to trade on this site!!!

Vircurex is one shady exchange,to put it mildly
they change their rules every 2-3 months, raise withdrawal minimums, remove coins from trading, promise interest on deposits over 1 bitcoin etc.
do you know what is the withdrawal fee there? 200.000 satoshi,so almost everyone exchanged to DOGE (wd fee 5 doge at the time) to lose less
now DOGE withdrawal fee is 250 doge  Huh

scam accusations are here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0

and this is an archived thread about it - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/closed-49383

by the looks of things it may be long gone.

Have you started this thread in the scam section? If not, you should so more people would be aware and you could leave a bad rating on their website review. News like that spread eventually.

I'm having a hard time finding it again on the forum feed , that's why i posted that here, my bad.  Roll Eyes Can you direct me to the scam section so I can read up on this more and maybe post there as well?

So this website, which claimed an attack also claimed they would be returning the users funds.

they froze over 300 of my litecoins, about 2 years ago now, and never responded to any emails and basically vanished like a fart in the wind accept the site is still up and running and making announcements?!?

I was following on this forum for a bit, but lost interest when I gave up on getting my money back but its been a while and I'm curious now,

Did any kind of settlement ever get reached? Am I owed anything here or am I being too optimistic? If they never did return anyones coins is there a way to get the site taken down so other people don't fall prey to them? They should not be allowed to keep going as an exchange if this the case, cause they can keep robbing people for years, a little bit at a time.
