vircurex.com is still erroring out

According to WHOIS, the domain:

- Was registered 2011-08-15T03:55:06Z
- Was last updated 2018-08-15T11:48:24Z
- Expires 2020-08-15T03:55:06Z

I'd guess the update on 2018-08-15 was an auto-renew (same day of the year it was registered). Will be interesting to see if the domain is extended for another two years around 15th August 2020.

Vircurex is still up, it seems to go down intermittently. Deposits and withdrawals are working from what I can tell. Interest is being offered on deposits again. Correction: Interest on deposits is listed, but I've not seen any payouts.

We have reactivated the email confirmations for order executions.  We'll be adding back deposit confirmations by end of this week too.

If our new email solution shows stable enough we'll activate the IP validation in the coming weeks. The feature will require you to confirm via email everytime you login from a new IP address, of course you will be able to enable/disable this feature in your user settings.

Vircurex is giving a cloudflare error for the last few months. it's closed?

There's apparently been another payment round, although it is listed under news, and does not appear at https://vircurex.com/welcome/ann_reserved.html

2018-02-13: 1.25 BTC and 37 LTC returned to frozen fund holders

The profit of 1.25 BTC and 37 LTC from Q4 2017 have been distributed to users with frozen funds. We have applied the same logic as in the past. Half the funds are distributed to users with the largest frozen funds and half to the users with the least amount of frozen funds. If you still have frozen funds, please bear with us. We will distribute all Vircurex profits every quarter.

I seem to be stuck in the middle because I have not received a single payment since the balances were frozen in 2014. Not even 0.00000001 LTC.

(There's also only mention of Q4 2017...what about all of the other quarters preceding that?)

Also of note, not long before the latest payout, a class action lawsuit against Vircurex:

Occasional bump

I was wrong about the 10 month thing above - according to https://vircurex.com/welcome/ann_reserved.html the last payment was in January 2016, not 2017.

So we're nearly at two years since the last payment.

My frozen balance is 2.31317819 LTC. I guess that value must fall somewhere in the middle since I haven't received any of it yet.

Quote from mid 2004 2014...

Just checked now and my frozen balance is still exactly 2.31317819 LTC. Not a single repayment in 3+ years.

So what's up with my frozen ltc ?

It's been more than 3 years. Consider it lost. There's a very small chance you may get some back at some point in the future... if, and only if, that happens: consider it a windfall!

I don't think I've received a single litoshi of my frozen LTC.

See this page:

https://vircurex.com/welcome/ann_reserved.html

Look at the huge gap between the most recent payment (which was still 10 months ago), and second to last payment. Also note that the most recent payment only repaid 0.08% of the frozen LTC.

So why is this site still going? Can there really be any profit in it?

I have some funds frozen so I check in from time to time but I'm always surprised that the site it still there.  Roll Eyes

Take a look at first post in this thread:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/closed-49383

Kumala (the owner) has closed it. It is done. Game over.

Site is still working, but I guess by deleting the original post, Kumala is more formally acknowledging that Vircurex has been running in IDGAF mode for quite some time.

As BrianM mentioned above, "when people are stupid enough to deposit there". This is Kumala's profit. Sometimes you actually can withdraw small amounts but it is a bit of a lottery. Around 50% of the withdrawals get stuck, and you have no chance to unlock these withdrawals.

Edit: Concerning the withdrawal problems things have improved somehow. All the unsuccessful withdrawals in my account have been refunded.
