Is there any way i can recover my wallet, whose seeds and password i have lost?

Also i see sometimes the proliferation of some codes in form of scam codes that are sent into the wallets in form of tokens, but which are not.
Can they be stopped and what is the implication?

Hello Denreal! There is only one way to restore access to your account, you have to use your seed-phase. Regarding suspicious tokens, I strongly recommend you to study in details every token you want to trade (read description and make your own research via mass medias) or use our forum (https://forum.wavesplatform.com/) for such purpose. WavesPlatform is DEX and anyone can create a token and make airdrop via mass transfer feature. You always have choices (explore and trade, burn or hide). We have  the article in our knowledgebase regarding your question also - https://docs.wavesplatform.com/en/waves-client/security/spam-transactions.html

Best wishes, Waves Community manager.

There's no way to recover it without the seed. That's why they have a note when you create a new wallet that you should save your seed in a safe place because it's the only way to recover.

I took a look at it.

So because i already have a waves wallet, i have to put in the 15 word seed.

Then put a new password to it.

So whenever i log into it, i still need to log into to it similar to like my waves desktop wallet where i have to put in the password right?

What confuses me is if i want to use the waves desktop client which i like, then i have to log into it with my old password.  But with the waves keeper, the new one?

I don't see any of this mentioned on it.

You can use Waves Keeper with web version of our client only. You don't need always use Waves Keeper, it's just the available option. And there are no new and old passwords. There are password for Waves Keeper and password for your account (for a certain browser).

Hi thanks for that information.

When i click on add waves keeper i get message

Add Waves Keeper?

It can:

Read and change all your data on the websites you visit

Display notifications

Modify data you copy and paste

This is the message i should receive?  This message seems not that secure though the way its phrased...

Please, read this step by step instruction (https://docs.wavesplatform.com/en/waves-client/account-management/waves-keeper.html) while using Waves Keeper. In case you need technical support you'd better raise a support ticket here - https://support.wavesplatform.com

waves.support i will download the waves keeper.

So when i do this, the first thing it ask me is to copy and paste my seed?  Or it would not ask me that?  I assume it has to ask me that right?

Then it ask for a new password.  I put this in.  Then when i do this, i go to that site to authenticate waves keeper and thats all right to get airdrop?

Now what about when i turn on my laptop?  Could i access my waves keeper wallet without logging in the password?  I assume no right?  Thus i have to always enter a password to log in or not?  If not, wouldn't that be insecure in that its like leaving your waves wallet out in the open if you just turn on your laptop?

Thanks.

Absolutely correct. You need to enter your seed phrase only once. But have to enter your password every time to switch on your Waves Keeper extention. And once again, it's not wallet. It's extension that lets you to hold your WAVES keys securely while interacting safely with third-party web resources.

Well i previously used waves lite client.  Then i installed desktop client and put in a new password.  I use that now.  So if i want to use waves keeper, i have to put in my 12 or 15 word phrase.  Then put in a new password.

So that means if i access desktop client, i use the password i created a while back.  But for the waves keeper client, i use another password.  So whichever one i open, i have to put its own password?  What confuses me is when i turn on my laptop, I'm not logged into my waves keeper wallet right?  Thus everytime i turn on my computer, i have to type in my waves keeper password to access my wallet?

Hi there.  So you are saying waves keeper allows you to send waves without entering a password?  Say your computer is on.  You can just send waves from the waves keeper?  If so, doesn't that make it less secure?  Because if your computer is not on, you still have to open waves desktop wallet and then put in the password to log into your waves account.

If i download waves keeper, it would need me to copy and paste my 12 or 15 word seed right?  But would it ask for a new password to put or do i put the same password i use for the desktop client?

You need to create a new password especially for Waves Keeper. And it doesn't make operations less secure. SEEDs and private keys are encrypted and stored within the extension and cannot be accessed by the dApps and services on the web, giving you peace of mind that your funds are always safe from hackers and malicious sites. Completing a transaction doesn’t require entering any sensitive information.

Kind regards, Waves Community Manager
I am always afraid to install any programs on my laptop, there is always the likelihood of data leakage, then they may accuse the programmer of fraud, etc. It's good that the Waves platform has a web version.

I downloaded the waves desktop wallet and its good.  I previously used the waves lite client.

But now i see mention about the waves keeper wallet.  So now most ppl here use that as oppose to the waves desktop wallet?

Also is the waves keeper wallet legit and safe?  Because its mentioned its a chrome extension.  Do most ppl here use it?  So if you use it... you don't use the desktop wallet?

Also i want to get the vostok airdrop.  Curious but do most ppl here download waves keeper and verify or send small amount of waves to the waves address for it?  Seems like it might be risky downloading another program?

Also can others tell me they got from last vostok airdrop?  I didn't get it last time because i had no idea of this.  Example you had 500 waves.  What did you get out of it in terms of coins... and how much was it worth back then?  Can someone tell me exactly what coins they got from it?

Hello, jerry0!

Waves Keeper
is official Waves product, an extension for a browser available for Google Chrome https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/waves-keeper/lpilbniiabackdjcionkobglmddfbcjo?hl=en, Firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/waves-keeper/, Opera https://addons.opera.com/ru/extensions/details/waves-keeper/ and Microsoft Edge https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/waves-keeper/9npz1hrq32nt?activetab=pivot%3Aoverviewtab users. Feel free and safe to use all official Waves products from the official Waves resources.

Waves Keeper is not opposite to Desktop or Online Client, it's just an extension, which allows you to hold your WAVES keys securely while interacting safely with third-party web resources. It is a kind of Simple Authentication and SSO for dApps or Waves-enabled web applications and enables you to sign transactions without entering your private key or password. Your seed is held securely within the extension and cannot be accessed by outside apps, keeping your funds safe from malicious sites. More details about Waves Keeper here https://docs.wavesplatform.com/en/waves-client/account-management/waves-keeper.html

As for the airdrop: the distribution for both phases is planned for the beginning of June. You can check an approximate amount of VST tokens you'll get on the same web page as verification is available https://vostok.wavesplatform.com/. Just paste your Waves address in the search box there.

Best wishes,
Waves Community manager.

The Waves DEX is about to hit 10 million trades, currently sitting at 9.9 million, since its launch 2 years ago.

These days, an average of ~20'000 trades are processed every single day. We have come a long way! 🥳

please attention to assets because there are so many scams and harming some people who invest, I believe in the waves project but it is very bad with its assets and it might bring together its own wave project
Not all token have tags, but spam tokens (which are mostly scam) are being separated, so they should be automatically ignored by Waves client users. Also, each of us has a big role too to avoid being scammed (I listed some reminders below).

1. Just stick to known tokens if you want to invest
2. If you want other token, you should do further reseach about it before investing (ignore those that have no development, no info online, etc).
3. Should not be swayed by the price of airdropped token that allows only to buy, but not to sell what has been airdropped

This is the misconception about waves, Whenever a company used waves platform for their token its already a big redflag due to massive scam tokens available in waves platform,. Since token creation in waves is a newbie friendly it becomes a child's play platform where scammers and dev wannabe starting to create their own assests

Hello.
I want to share our issue about some complaining ant skeptical thinking about project when people read the info that it is at Waves blockchain not at ERC20. Huh Roll Eyes
At our announcement topic in bitcointalk.com
there are voices with not positive vision about our project because Waves… I’ve tried to defend it -

and I’m thinking that we have an argues but maybe we can help me to count the adventages here for better answering and prepare for the attacks?

People say : "You just create free token at Waves = Your project couldn’t be anything good"… I disagree totally… Roll Eyes

Could You help me to collect best argues to recapture it? I also invite You into our discussion at our topic… Huh
