You can do it without problem! Just make shure that you are sending to your personal deposito address

They're likely working with Exchanges on a day to release on the Exchange. So its a coordinated effort. Most likely.

I'll admit it's interesting because the road map says "Full Node Deployment" on the 2nd June.

Could mxxxxxx explain if this means that Exchanges like YoBit could in theory start trading real WAVES on the 2nd June (if the node code is released).

Likewise it seems pretty clear they could start exchanging on IOU's.

How can you expect to enforce this? The project is opensource and decentralised no?

Of course they can start trading whatever they put on their site! They don't even need anything they will just list it and thats it.
