Thanks for the welcome and advice Canuk!
Did I hear that once I get that wallet set up with my coins in it I will receive more coins every week?
Is the Waves Chrome wallet set up for the Bip148 implementation on August 1st?
If you hold waves in your wallet, you're entitled to some airdrops from time to time. Currently, the Waves Community Token is being airdropped to WAVES holders. There are 9 distributions of the WCT of which there will be 10,000,000 tokens issued. The first drop was 20% of that supply and each of the other 8 drops are 10% of that supply. So long as you hold waves in you wallet for the month, you get a distribution based on your balance held every 15th of the month or so.
You also get other airdropped tokens from time to time, but they're mostly spam. Some interesting distributions have taken place hough such as the Riptobux distro which is a dual blockchain asset. Not really being used for anything right now, but it has limited market value and it's intriguing.
There's no scheduled kind of distribution of tokens that just takes place every week. You can stake your WAVES token though and lease them to a node that's mining new blocks and get a portion of the rewards from that. Most nodes pay out weekly for that.
I'm not sure about BIP148 compatibility. I think that would be up to the Bitcoin gateways that accept Bitcoin transfers for WBTC (Waves Bitcoin backed tokens) and they're simmilar to consumer level users of the Bitcoin network; so I don't imagine there are any problems ahead for that.
