I have unleased them multiple times. Everytime was almost instant.
Either way, leasing is not going to secure your coins.

The point is, they "instantly" cancel lease but you cannot send them for 10 hours. So it gives you a 10 hour cushion to find out you are hacked. Unless they did an update, this was always the case.

Leasing brings extra security:

Waves can't can't be spent as long ad they are leased Smiley
Lol
It takes 10 seconds to unlease them.

What would bring a layer of security is 2fa. It is very suprising this is not implemented yet.

They only unlease and are back in your wallet after the next block, not 10 seconds.

Who is everyone using to lease ? Who's the most profitable?

I'm using : https://fountainperpetua.com/fpearnings.aspx
3PFrn8EHRhjJGEQxYwWKdJcwcsW1XFRJbmz

I went with them because they said they pretty much give everything back to leaser?

I really don't know the in's and out of the whole leasing thing.

I agree also  we really need 2fa on the wallet ...

I dont have any of my account info, password or seeds stored on my computer at all. Its in my head. Is there a way my liteclient can still get hacked? I have no coins in there now, but want to know its safe before I send any coins to it. Thanks in advance. Also, Is it possible to change your password to a new one inside the liteclient? I did not see functionality. I only ask because of the person above.

I think when you remove the account in the client and add it again (using the seed) you can type a new password.

When someone has your seed, they don't need a password so be careful with it.

understood, just want to clarify, if my seed is not on my computer (in my head) and not on any type of electronic device I cannot get hacked unless someone tortures it out of me verbally? I know its a silly question, but with current market trends want to be 1000% safe.

If your computer wasnt affected when you created the wallet (seed and stuff) you should be safe until you import the account to the light wallet. If you imported to the light client you could get hacked. They could steel or use your computer when you are not there and if they know your password to the light client they could send your founds away. Or they could hack your computer and control it remotely and if they know your light client password they could send your founds away.

I really wish there was a feature to freeze outgoing transactions for your address for specified period of time, the time period would not be shown anywhere so only the one who froze it would know when it will be activated again.

So, with the coming update will there be more coins and tokens to trade on Waves?
It needs more exchanges, and larger ones.

I can't speak for the Waves team but ultimately they want to implement multiple fiat and coin gateways to Waves DEX.
BTC and EUR already there, more coming for sure.

yeah, support confirmed, all of my token had been stolen and no recovery. so sad, waves lite client app is not safe...

Your Waves lite client doesn't store your coins.

You're computer was infected, hacked and/or your seed was stored plain text, etc.
Can't blame the client.

Where did you store your Waves seed (private key)?

It was stored in a password protected word doc. So I should change password for wave lite client? What should I do to prevent it from happening again? thanks!

Use a password manager at the very least.  I have never heard of anyone using a password protected word document.  I think 2FA would help to reduce these risks.

How do you use 2FA with the WavesLiteApp? As far as I know, it's not available Huh

I'm on a Mac, could that be why? I checked the Waves Wallet app, as well, and no 2FA is available. Would love to enable it for my account; please enlighten me!

Im very sorry for you loss, how much was stolen? These kind of things are happening way to often in crypto land, i think this is one of the things which could destroy this crypto movement going on right now.
Please tell us more information on this and i will share some advices on how to protect yourself in the future. My questions
1. Do you think somebody access your light client and hacked your password to the client or that they hacked your document and found your private key?
2. What Operating system do you use?
3. How long time have you had your computer since you did a fresh factory reset / reinstalled os and all files.
4. How and where was the document stored? Was is on a cloud service like google drive or locally on your computer? If it was on you computer what was the name of the folder and file it was stored in, and the path to the document?
5. What browser and how many extensions for that browser do you use?

Okay, so some advice on how to prevent this in the future.

1. When generating a wallet use a freshly installed computer or partition your hardrive and install a linux distro, for example Ubuntu. And only do crypto stuff from that partition, install as few programs as possible and limit browsing..... I didnt do this step and im getting more paranoid every day, probably i will in a few days and then transfer my founds to the new account generated on a fresh OS.
2. If you really want to store your private key digitally in a cloud or somewhere then hide it among other documents unrelated to crypt. For example, if you have many work/school documents in one folder called /school/ then make a copy of one of the documents there and rename the copy to for example history.docx, this history document should preferable contain many pages of text related to history. In the middle of the history document paste your encrypted (se step 3) backup info (private key and seed and stuff).
3. Make a system to encrypt your seed or private key before you store it in the word document. For example:
 1. If your seed is > hello apple father book kiss there hunger bag... than your system could be to switch places of 1st and 3 word, and of last and second to last word. The above seed that you would store in the document would then be > father apple hello book kiss there bag hunger
 2. Your private key > subtract one from the digit or character at position 1 4 and last, for example: f130fgv9 would be: e19fgv8
4. If you want to store long term on waves, then remove that newly create account from the light client.

If these steps are to much, then you are better of to store your waves on tidex or bittrex with 2fa enabled.

Now you have heard/read of someone using password protected word to store private keys.

How much did you lose?

I think I got hacked and the funds were stolen in my account. All of the token were sent to a address I was not aware of.

Contact the police.  Otherwise it is between you and the thief.
