For Waves I found an easy way to generate personal "vanity" addresses, like 3PHMaGNeTJfqFfD4xuctgKdoxLX188QM8na

Let me explain how to do this in this tutorial:

Steps:

1. First make sure Oracle Java is installed.
2. Download the walletgenerator.jar from https://github.com/PyWaves/scala_walletgenerator/releases
3. If you don't trust the jar, compile it yourself or disconnect your computer from the internet.
4. Run the following command line, change the password and name to whatever you like.

Code:
java -jar walletgenerator.jar -c 999999999 -p password -f MAGNET

5. Wait, be patient, this may take a while, even on a fast computer. If you are in a hurry, keep it to a maximum of 6 characters. Names over 7 characters may take days but also depends on luck.
6. The walletgenerator will generate a wallet.dat and a CSV file holding the seed, private key, address, etc.
7. If the walletgenerator didn't generate a address you like, run it over and over again until you are satisfied.
8. Save the seed, wallet.dat and password of the address you like to keep in a safe place, also print the seed and store it away safely.

Official "read me" for the "Waves wallet generator":
Quote
Waves wallet generator

This tool generates Waves addresses with 15 word seeds compatible with Waves Lite Client and Waves Full Node. The output is exported to a 'wallet.dat' for the Full Node and to a CSV file, 'addresses.csv', which contains the list of all generated addresses with seeds, private keys and public keys.

Usage

$ java -jar walletgenerator.jar -h
Waves wallet generator 1.0
Usage: walletgenerator [options]

  -c, --count     number of addresses to generate
  --testnet               generate testnet addresses
  -p, --password  wallet password
  -f, --filter    filter addresses with a specific pattern

Examples

$ java -jar walletgenerator.jar --testnet -c 100 -p mypassword

generate 100 testnet addresses. Output to screen, wallet.dat (encrypted with 'mypassword') and addresses.csv

$ java -jar walletgenerator.jar -c 1000 -p mypassword -f WAVE

generate 1000 mainnet addresses. Filter only addresses containing the word 'WAVE', output to screen, wallet.dat (encrypted with 'mypassword') and addresses.csv

Running multiple instances of Walletgenerator or on multiple computers will speed things up a bit.

If you like this tiny tutorial, think of me and send some tokens of appreciation (pun intended Grin) to: 3PHMaGNeTJfqFfD4xuctgKdoxLX188QM8na

I have been with Waves since the ICO, and this seems like its a bit confusing. I would have to research this with a small amount before knowing, but I see there is a
SEND and a WITHDRAW button. Both sound like they would do the same. If I want to SEND BTC to Bittrex or do I WITHDRAW BTC to Bittrex?  I am confused also.

If you want to send WBTC as token, use "SEND" button. If you want to send (convert) WBTC > BTC, use "WITHDRAW" button.

Is there a way to get BTC out of Waves lite client?  if so,  how long does it take?

If you want to send WBTC as token, use "SEND" button. If you want to send (convert) WBTC > BTC, use "WITHDRAW" button.

Usually it takes 10-20 minutes + some confirmations in the bitcoin blockchain.

didn't work for me,  and I did it this way - I will give bad review that the process does not work until proven otherwise.

What does not work for you? It does not make sense, just send us a support ticket at : [email protected] with detailed information.

OK,  I just sent it with the copied transaction info from lite client

withdrew 0.06 bitcoin off of dex to bittrex 48hrs now and no confirms the trans id show up but that's all.. also what is going on with the gateway it is soposed to be decentralized I do not see that ween they are holding the keys to bitcoin though the gateway
did your transaction ever go through?
I am attempting the same thing with no luck.

Anyone from Waves can chime in to say that this process works,  or why it does not?  Makes DEX almost irrelevant if it does not

Did you sent WBTC from your WavesWallet to Bittrex ?
I don't think Bittrex support WBTC currently.

I hit withdraw under my bitcoin balance in the liteclient and it asked for a bitcoin address (which I entered and it accepted),  didn't say it was WBTC.  is that the way to get real BTC out of Waves liteclient,  or is there no way to do it?

WBTC is the same as BTC but working in the waves blockchain.

Perhaps the Bitcoin address was typoed?  Do it matter if extra spaces were after the address?

It is weird that blockchain.info cannot tell you about the transaction, I would experiment with $2.00 before I throw a large sum at it.

blockchain.info recognizes the address I input-  but not the transaction ID that Waves lite client lists...makes me believe it is an internal trans ID rather than a bitcoin network one...
