Hi! whats a good setting for my p104-8gb to mine eth?
i have no problem with etc.. but with eth i have strange result..
now they are going with PL 75% + 225 core - 350 mem...33/34 mhs..
any attempt to put positive mem leads me to loss hashrate..
they are Asus p104-100 with bios 86.04.7A.00.19 and driver 471.96.

thanks

Sovryn - Brings DeFi to Bitcoin
upd. solution found: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/208828/208828 thanks darkneorus!

use nvflash to flash your card which is not asus or gigabyte, you'll get all 8GB working on board.

anyone knows how to open all 8GB VRAM on P104-100 to mine Grin31?

it should be done with bios modding.

Put the 4gb card on sell right now through eBay or other and use the money to invest in altcoins or btc right now since gpu are presently overpriced, if mining is your thing then consider it later after you made some money investing in BTC, trying to unlock this card to 8gb is pointless

I flashed my ASUS p104-100 4GB with NVIDIA P104-100 8GB bios from techpowerup. There was a minor device subsystem id mismatch which I overwrote with -6 on the command line, rebooted the machine, and the card is fully unlocked to 8GB with absolutely no issues. Overclocked ram to 750 and getting 40MH/S on ETH.

Hi
Do you have a document explaining how you did it
asus and palit
I will use for these
Thank you

I'm going to try this afternoon with an Asus card. Do you have any news or extra tips? I saw there was no answer but maybe you figured out how to do it!

The cards have been reflashed many times for safety always with parameters

nvflash64 --protectoff
nvflash64 -6 MyRom.rom

plus a slow card is running with the stock bios (8g unlocked on the PCB)

The reflash was done directly on the rig and also on another PC.

So I assume the problem is not in the reflash.

But thanks anyway every attempt is appreciated  Cheesy

I am now investigating the IRQ assignment  Huh

ok Alex I tried ... Good results even without overclocking the mems too much ...

But it remains to be seen why half cards go at 35mh and half go at 28mh / s ...
I will disassemble 2 boards to compare the pcb to find any differences ..

Try to rewrite bios 8gb on the half slow.. maybe you  forgot to remove protection For every card with nvflash64 --protectoff ? I had a card that apparently had been flashed but I forgot to remove the protection and went in zombie mode

Thanks Alex I had read about this problem related to the TLB ..
What I can't understand is why with ETH half cards go to 35/36 Mh / s and the other half goes to 28 Mh / s ...
Shouldn't they all go slow or fast the same?
With etc having a lower DAG no problem all the cards go at 40+ Mh / s ..

try powerlimit 75 core +120 mem+25
with these setting 34/35 mhs in eth

my p104 mining eth now lose mhs over mem+25!!!!

hi guys just wanted to update you on my experiments..

Removing the smd at the bottom right (the one only in the row) I unlocked the 8 giga via pcb and I reflash the stock bios...

Apparently nothing has changed .. and unfortunately, as I already thought, the problem of low hash rate on some cards is not solved ..
I will check how it goes in these days and then at most I modify all the cards (just 5  Cry)

My stock bios, as you can see in the picture, is 86.04.7A.00.02 ... does anyone have if exist an updated stock bios for Zotac?

problem of low hash rate in eth with pascal cards it's not related with 8gb bios on p104.. its TLB fucking bug! mining etc should give more mhs..
....look here... https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/blockchain-drivers/110847

Hi guys .. I wanted to try to compare the pcb configuration of my zotac p104-100 with the pcb of a Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 Mini that uses the same pcb with obviously a different configuration for the 8gb vram.
I can't find high resolution photos to see this area specifically.
Any help is welcome

i will try them out, i am getting a memory error, maybe card is broken

Your cards is not broken, you use wrong bios. You must use the right bios, or you will get memory errors, or card is instable, or have low hashrate and so on.

The good news is you can almost always flash it again and fix it with the right bios.

...me too ... Now I'm using 208828.rom which is the best of all but more instable.. very high current consumption .. low and instable Hashrate...

I am looking for a hardware solution... but I can't find high definition images of the pcb for comparison

i guess you still need a modded bios to run 8gb over 4. now i managed to get the card running at 4gb , have to test other 8gb bios but there are a lot of tricky things to do
