There is never an unambiguous possibility. Dependent people must confess and only then can other people help them. This has been proven for a long time. Everyone who plays for a long time knows that there is no turning back. you must confess

Accepting is the first as it helps you know that their is a problem and then only we can find the solution to it . Secondly if someone wants to reduce the gambling or want to stay away then try to do some other activity or pick up a sport or anything which you like and spend time in that . This will help you to grow individually as well and also to reduce the frequency of gambling as you will get less time to spend on such things .

If a person become addicted it will be hard to return back to his old self due to the influence of gambling especially you already used to it and its included on your daily routine.

It's a must to know your limit from the very start to prevent the worse scenario. To overcome addiction what op's said was right I just want to add, you should have a will to get over your addiction and help yourself. Because even others are willing to help you but if you don't make an effort to change the way you live your life then nothing will happen.
From the very beginning, you need to settle your limits and never to exceed from it. Coping with gambling addictions needs to have deeper help, aside from family and medical treatment, a big help needs to comes up first from your own will. From that point of views you'll be eager to recover and you'll be able to start everything by finding other things to do and start limiting yourself to think about gambling and anything related to it.

What about limiting your budget for gambling ?
The limited budget for gambling will not allow you to become addicted to gambling, because once you are out of your budget you will automatically quit it for the day or week, according to your plan. The less funds you allocate to gambling, the better you will remain safe from the risks of losing money.

Honestly, this won't help in most cases. The eagerness to bounce back is always there when people lose.

Let's reconstruct your statement into:

"The limited budget for gambling will push you more to become addicted to gambling because once you are out of your budget you will find a way to recover on that day no matter what. The fewer funds you allocate to gambling, the more aggressive you will seek for money to gamble."

Self-discipline is the key. Fight the addiction no matter how hard it is.

Gamblers get addicted by their choice, I don't believe that gambling will push you to become addicted to it. At first, if you really want to reach that point, you should limit yourself in the first place. Being greedy after a loss will really make you lose more and unfortunately, everything. Your mind and body is yours, so you are responsible and accountable on what you do during gambling. Aggressiveness is the no. 1 enemy of the gamblers, they see gambling as a source of income in their daily lives which is wrong. No matter how hard you try to fight the addiction, but if you're not limiting yourself in doing that, then you will a have a hard time to manage your money. Self-discipline is not enough just by saying it, we must perform and practice it before and during gambling.

After we gamble, we must reflect on the result that we could get. We should think more, understand, perceive, and realize if gambling really can help us grow in life.

If a person became addicted it will be hard to return back to his old self due to the influence of gambling specially you already used to it and its included on your daily routine.

Well, that's what distinguishes a dependency, the constant repeatability until it becomes an addiction. To get out of the situation you have to break the daily routine and try to avoid situations when you were used to gamble a lot. I stoped smoking about 15 years ago from one day to another. The only thing I did was changing my habits and avoid situations were I would have smoked a cig or two. As soon as you broke the habits the addiction is easy to beat I think.

To overcome addiction what op's said was right I just want to add, you should have a will to get over your addiction and help yourself. Because even others are willing to help you but if you dont make an effort to change the way you live your life then nothing will happen.

This is the main point in my opinion. One has to accept that he or she is addicted and that he wants to get over it. As long as this understanding of situation is missing, the patient doesn't accept that something is wrong and doesn't understand why he should change anything. The best doctors want have any chance to cure him/her as long as the patient doesn't want to get cured.

Well, there are many ways to recover an addicted gambler in gambling and you've stated some. I will just share my opinion into each of them.

1. Focus on your family or friends - if you have strong relationship with your family and friends then you will forget to play gambling, and they may help you to limit yourself from gambling.
One of the best ways to recover from getting addicted into gambling. Spending time with them especially if you have good ties and good relationship can help you recover from it. This would not be applied if unfortunately, the gambler doesn't have a family near his place though.

of course having a strong relationship with family and friends can influence to minimize gambling activities that he often does even if he is always busy to fill other activities with friends and family then naturally addicted to gambling will disappear over time, but most gambling addicts quite difficult to be able to leave gambling because gambling he does is as an activity that can make money and have fun

The problem is , do majority of these addicted ones would really plan to confess?I guess not, most of the time they will just deny that theyre addicted ones.
Recovery or completely get rid of gambling addiction will depend on ones mind which there are various of things that should really be done to divert out your attention towards it.
Recovery takes time and complete patience and control because if you do let yourself still exposed into these things then total recovery would be hard.

if someone there experiencing it if you are still capable try to engage yourself in different aspect in life like sports but avoid betting just do it for physical fitness and fun.
Good idea. Get another habit will make easier to leave the gambling habit excessively. Addiction means you play gambling too much, you need to make it normal again. If your daily activity is only playing gambling all day, it will be hard to recover it. So, you need to make yourself busy with outside activities.

if you dont have a partner try to get one sincerely or if you already have a family think about them, about their future. It is really hard if you are just alone.
Agree. An addicted gambler needs his closest people. They can be family or friends. The gambler will be hard to recover from addiction if he struggles alone. He needs someone who has a different perception and knows how to give advice effectively to the addicted gambler. However, at a severe stage, he needs an expert or professional.

Limiting doesn't really help at all because they could just cheat on their own.
Limiting funds may not bring effects to addicted gamblers, but it can be one of the ways to prevent addiction. Moreover, this way can avoid us from playing excessively in gambling and also prevent debt/loan.

The best way is to seek help from family and friends
I agree that family or close friends who can help an addicted gambler. Those people know more than others. They have a higher chance to make the gambler to recover from addiction. But sometimes, they also need experts or professionals of mental health as the OP said.

Wanting to recover from gambling addiction truly needs sheer determination and will power from the gambler. In the end, it is him that will determine the total withdrawal from this game. But yes, support groups are needed to help him not to go back again to his habit. They will serve as the reminder why he is doing such change of lifestyle and be on track to his goals.

Finding something else that captivates your attention in your free time is something you can try if you're not deep into gambling addiction; I know I was bordering on gambling addiction in the past and doing exactly this resulted in me making a pretty sizable sum of money and helped me realize how much time I was wasting gambling and how unproductive I was during those times.

Also realize that professional help can be the best option sometimes, because professionals are often more equipped for more severe cases of gambling addiction. Some people also shun help, and if someone you know is avoiding help even though you recognize that person has a severe gambling problem, at some point it's not worth trying more.

Obviously, professional intervention would be the number one answer here, but then again we have some gambling addicts who have no access whatsoever to professional care due to its price. I would say finding a new hobby would be the next best alternative in curing or at least alleviating the burdens of gambling addiction to an addict. Diverting one's attention from his current addiction has showed some positive results on some people and is definitely worth a shot. Barring the person from gambling by minimizing the amount of money they can carry, or preventing them from visiting gambling houses and websites would only strengthen their urge to gamble.

2. List all things that were affected by gambling - if you can see all the things that were affected because of gambling then you may realize that it has no goods to give you, then I hope that it makes you think to stop gambling.
Me just thinking the word gambling itself makes me realize that it will not give any benefits to me Cheesy. I felt regret when I tried gambling because I didn't win but I lose a certain amount of money thru gambling.

3. Read and Search about gambling addiction - if you can see all people that have been affected because of gambling then you may stop from being addicted on it, there are some people's life that already destroyed because of gambling.
Kinda connected with the 2nd one. Having a research on gambling addiction can make you realize that you might want to stop gambling. Unfortunately, not all gamblers are doing it since they see no sense in doing it Cheesy. They will just gamble and hoping that they will earn money from it.

4. Meet and visit experts or professionals about mental health - If you really want to limit yourself from gambling, but you can't then you may visit some experts and listen to their advise.
This is the most helpful one for me. Experts in mental and health problems will definitely can help you recover from getting addicted into gambling.

I think number 2 and number 3 will not be the attention of addicted gamblers because they will not care about anything that happens around them. Maybe the only thing that can help them to realize that they are addicted to gambling is their family. If one family care and concern each other, they will know if someone of the member having a problem and they will help that person to solve it. And if the thing that the problem is severe, they will ask that person to go to the professional that can be able to help that person.

If I were the addicted gambler, I'd go first with the fourth one because I think it is more effective than the first three. My friends have their own family to give more attention. There are times that other members of the family are busy so they cannot accommodate me. List some affected in gambling ? I think even you don't make a list you already knew what/who are affected of gambling. So I think there is no need. If someone if so lazy to read then number is somehow impossible

If we can try our best not to reach that point that we have to recover ourselves, we should do it. It's better to prevent ourselves being addicted than finding solutions. Before we gamble, we should start with giving ourselves a proper mindset when it comes to gambling.
Although we can't stop addiction, we can still make way to get out of that trap. If you feel you are being addicted to gambling, start looking for other things to be busy of. Surround yourself with the people who makes you happy even without the need to gamble.

Being addicted in gambling really is a hard circumstance especially when it lasted for too long, mostly people who experienced this have lost their financial capability and also their career like some popular people in our country. We should help someone with this kind of addiction especially if it is our relatives and close friend before its too late for them and have already in deep with the addiction. For me, the way to combat this is to always weight more important things than gambling when you are becoming eager to play, so you could differentiate and assess yourself to help you combat or to control this kind of addiction.
Diversions is the key if you are already involve to this kind of issue, if you can find ways to keep yourself busy with things that can keep you away
from this industry, gambling is one of those vices that really hurt your finances, if you see someone  related to you or close to you best to intimidate
and keep him busy working with other stuff push him to look for other activities to forget about his addictions.
