I think that DGC prices are artificially being kept high the volume there at cryptsy is so low 5BTC could easily pump it up 1 digit. WDC is deliberately being lowered by certainty ppl like myck. I literally seen him take the price down form .00018 to .00011 and he was having a blast while he was doing it. In the end I think both of these coins are superior to a lot of the older Alts but I guess the 2 communities are battling it out because they came out around the same time and are the fastest coins so far. And who says there can only be one?

I think both coins are being heavilty dumped on a regular basis by most miners, just that DGC has had several 10+BTC buy walls in place to keep its price up. As soon as Monday's 14BTC wall at .0044 was pulled, the price went from .0053X to .0038.

People interested in WDC are content to keep pulling the buy order prices down to get coins cheaper and cheaper every day. I am surprised no one has really tried putting up decent walls yet, but I guess if miners are not going to hesitate to dump their coins into the top buy order, regardless of how under priced it is, there isnt a whole lot of incentive to pay more than what is necessary to acquire the coins.

I mean at some point the people gobbling up cheap WDC will have to change things up to get a return on their coins, but its so early in both coins lives that I dont think you can put much stock into one coin being better than the other, unless your goal is to mine and sell on a daily basis.
nice analysis, thanks

WDC market cap eclipses dgc lol.....  wdc is on 3 exchanges   dgc on 1 exchange still in its beta phase (stole 2.4btc from my wallet without my permission)....  tell me which coin has more potential lol.. Don't expect to get 1000s of dgc anytime soon, the sell volume isn't there....

Low volume = low supply = high demand...Basic economics

This will be worth more, because there's more of it available, said noone, ever

so what if its worth more if only 2 or 3 people can own it lol......  there are 3x as many wdc  my x3 wdc are worth more than your x1 dgc....  and I have no problem purchasing large quantities of wdc... try buying 10k dgc vs buying 30k wdc

Like I said, I have no problem with WDC or its dev, and I have no intention of bashing WDC. Its all speculation. We just need to see what happens

i was told by someone that the price of dgc is being kept artificially high on cryptsy and volumes are very small. Put it on bter and vic  and see what happens.

I only have a little of both so don't care which wins. Both have good names and WDC i think has more supporters. However we have to wait it out to see if either stays alive.

Did you compare the market cap or did you just compare the prices? There's 3 times as many world coins as digital coins.

WDC is in it for the long haul, DGC is a flash in the pan. Take a look at both communities & decide for yourself which coin will still be around next year (or in 6 mths for that matter).

I have no problem with WDC, or it's Devs. But, in reality, the reason their forum doubled its memberbase, was because they were giving away free shit. People love free shit. Hell, people signed up at GLD and PWC forums, for $0.12...

I think Digicoin has the best chance for survival. It's fast transaction speed, plus slightly slower block time, the WDC, seems to do better for both stales and orphans.
I thought maybe WDC would make it, because it came out first, but I think I was wrong. Coming out first, I think, meant that more flash miners adopted it early, and it was instantly dumped into oblivion.
That being said, people could just be hoarding it, waiting for DGC to hit a bigger, more popular echange, at which time, it to might be dumped into oblivion. Only time will tell.

As a newcomer, I kind of look at these situations as, the people that have massive amounts of bitcoin/hashing power trying protect the value of their coin?...

DGC had 0 Premine, is out at very small quantities and is safer / more stable.

WDC was just a firecracker.

There are no pump and dumps going on with DGC.
I think your right. Compare the graphs of DGC and WDC at cryptsy. DGC looks much more like a vital coin. Just like LTC and BTC on BTC-E.

WDC Graph just looks like a flatline....

Looks like a pump n dump. It will be interesting to see how it plays out in the long run.
They build up a vibrant community with forums etc. just to dump it, I think not.

I dunno but I see the community around WDC and I think it has some legs.  All new coins seem to go through this process so I think it's normal.

DGC pricing may just be an anomaly due to the above mentioned deep pockets.  I'm not sure that price alone is enough to keep it viable long term.  I think that there needs to more "there" there.  WDC, at least to me, seems to have more "there".
