I am happy and i love the point of view of the original poster of this thread. You can buy a laptop from any company, that is no crime, but how each user uses it is what differentiate a scammer from other people. Cryptocurrency on its own is harmless but how each person use it is what matters
my point is no matter how good an invention is bad people will use it for their own benefits.
This makes sense but the problem is, we need to find ways to maximize the good uses and minimize the bad uses of that invention. Yeah it doesn't sound easy but if we don't try, then the bad will outweigh the good. It's just a Trump's tweet. Don't fall for it. He must mention the down sides of bitcoin to colorize his US dollar. It's just as normal as other crypto supporters and haters' debates.
There have always been two opposites in the world on which our world stands. Light and dark, creation and ruin. Therefore, anything, even the simplest things can be applied for good or for evil. The remedy can also be killed if used improperly. Cryptography also behaves in the same way, therefore it cannot be judged unequivocally.
Yeah. It is all about how we use the technology. Cryptocurrency was created for us to have an alternative mode of payment and reliable transactions system. Blockchain Technology promotes security and transparency. That is why it has so many uses and future benefits. Let us continue on supporting these things and use it wisely.
Every tools that was invented or will be invent in the future will be used wrongly,the point people are not getting is every successful invention can be used to do bad things,stop saying cryptocurrency scam is increasing and leaving banks hacks & scams out of it,cell phones & smartphones was build for humans to make communication easier for us but still scammers are using the tech to do terrible things like terrorist attacks,online romance scams etc,my point is no matter how good an invention is bad people will use it for their own benefits.

Scammers will always go where the money is, if cryptocurrencies are more popular and there are more crypto users every day, scammers will try to take advantage of it, adapting their tactics and targeting crypto holders, it's inevitable.
Scammer and corrupt people are in every sector not just cryptocurrency alone, every sectors including finance, health and banking sectors have seen hackers steal lots of funds and datas, It will be highly unreasonable to criticise cryptocurrency and blockchain technology for these acts.
we can always weigh the advantages vs its disadvantages. blockchain being used by many companies today including the coming facebook libra, its clear now that it has offer more benefits. the government for now may see it as a thread but if they start using it soon, they will see its advantages too. but there's always the bad sides just like any stories, the negative sides of it like the scams makes it more interesting for the scambusters.
This is so true. People murder others with tools. Tools are designed to perform work more easily. Sometimes one person murders another with a tool. Do we blame the tool? Bad tool!! Naughty tool??
This is just blame shifting and dodging responsibility. You can only blame humans. If you mess up you can't blame something else. People will blame everything else before themselves since most people cannot deal with being wrong because they're foolish.

The problem is we started off at the wrong foot when bitcoin was used in the black market for drugs and illegal activities. That is the image retained to those who are not exposed to cryptocurrency and do not fully understand bitcoin or blockchain. And then scammers are rampant in cryptosphere. Bitcoin can be used in good and bad things but in here the bad side is the one always exposed to the public. It is just a matter of exposing the good side of bitcoin more.
I will never blame cryptocurrency and blockchain,

It may not be the fault of the gun if some mental nutjob shoots 100 people with it. However, the technological advance of the gun means it is actually possible for a nutjob to kill 100 people at once, whereas with a knife the damage would be far less. You can't expect a scorpion to not be a scorpion, and many people are just bad to their core so don't give them a gun or the financial equivalent.
All depends on how you use it, any technology has positive and negative values, including cryptocurrency. We can use a lot of positive things, but if someone uses it for a crime I think it's not the fault of the technology. I respond with very positive thinking.

The risk is the people who were trying to do some illegal works when there are some new they are using its weakness to make some money on it, the inventions are always there together with the dark side of the people who were trying to do illegal.

bad people and scams are present in all parts of our life, but the media simply underline cryptocurrency because its development is not profitable for modern financial instruments
It's just hard to stop these people who are solely living their lives with that kind of purpose. They can adapt and use every single technology that has been made for good things but they are reversing the use it for their intention.

I think no one blames the blockchain, or it is done by people who do not know enough about cryptocurrencies, we need to try to understand where a good project is and where it is scam.

Yes. Every tool can be used in good or a bad way. But we are always improving on ourselves. And we sometimes have to compromise in order to get things in order. The friction between local governments and cryptocurrencies cannot continue indefinitely so we need to come to a mutually agreeable point.
