If you want to entice people to play on your site then you should do something more than bumping announcement thread.

1. Organize some kind of promotion: cashback, bonus deposit, bonus roll - you name it.
2. Lack of aggressive promotion, you might want to: organize a signature campaign, buy bitcointalk's banner, start being active on social media.
3. Maybe change something in your site? Maybe gamblers don't like the concepts, add more options or add another mini game?

The first reason why do people not playing in your site because gambling is not that really recommended here to earn bitcoin. Second is that your site is not that like of those famous gambling sites like bitsler, primedice and so on. Maybe if you want to get people's attention to play in your site is that you have to develop your site and add more entertainment like you have free bitcoin and other stuffs or you could also create a thread here asking what are the improvements you have to make to make people play in your site something like that.

possibly because of lack of advertising?
or generally not enough interest in this particular type of gambling

have you thought about doing some promotional giveaways? they can be in form of simple giving away small amounts of bitcoin or it can be in form of deposit bonuses where people get a nice percentage on their deposits.

and in the end it is all about the game. some games simply aren't that popular among gamblers.

I guess you make a good promotion if you will run a campaign, all sort of campaign like social media campaign and signature campaign. I know it's costly but that how you do it since you are in a business. That is just my suggestion but you can do it if you really want to.

Yes provably fair, secure, 100% honest, paid winnings proofs and many more but the point here is about people's view on the gambling type itself. If they didn't found any game that are not interesting then definitely they will ignored it and will not try even for once. Also if a gambler will do a small amount of betting continously I think they will think of it as a hassle one.

But no worries, just run your game and see it will goes. And besides your game is unique compare to the usual gambling games out there. You just need to think the "missing piece" in able to attract more players.

Exactly, if youve only run a small contest how do you expect people to know your game exsists.
gambling games need a big word of mouth, trusted, and a big marketing budget but doesnt see, like you have any of the above so would be the reason not many people play at your site.
