i don't think that's a big factor. the IRS caps deducted capital losses at $3000 so this would only be relevant for very small fish.

We already got a lo of bad press already that drives the market price down. And by the way, this is a free market so anything goes. So its going to be difficult to collude with others for the purpose of crashing the price not unless you're a big fat whale swimming in the crypto sea. This trend is in trend from last few months. Some are selling to reduce their losses. Everyone have their own theory to sale and buy as well. You seem to be blinded by the idea that it will soar up high no matter what happens, let me tell you that its not. Too much price crash is really bad as it may take a long time for it recover or worse, may never be able to. Hell, a proven security flaw could lose almost everyone's trust. Even a misleading report about it regardless of whether its proven or not could still have a huge effect especially to non-bitcoin users 'cause a lot of them are close minded who doesn't even bother digging info before believing something.
