Same fuckers that has been scamming for years. If they are not government then they are under government protection.

its difficult but its possible . cant you see that there are still scam attempts that are being busted ? if the investigator is dedicated and smart he can always trace and expose the scammer whenever hole they hide  .


scammers are everywhere  . before when there is no ico and cryptos , scammer already existed but now that cryptos are booming , scammer are already shift into this space because there is alot of money in here and their earning potential is huge  .

overall , i agree on the op's idea but we also know that most of us are busy people  . i guess those that are working full time on the crypto space can do the job more accurately since they are more familliar about the faces , names and other factors  .

How about building an algorithm that can identify scam ICO's.

The premise being if a weighted average is in the negative, the conclusion is that a high probability of a scam, if the average medium is plus 3, the risk is reduced and likely hood that this is a legitimate project that is rating high. If the average medium falls between 0-2 a warning that more research is needed in order to conclude.  

I also stay away from shitcoins and support only good projects but there will always be more greedy people who are here for the money and will pump anything as long as it pays. How do you want to fight something as a community if the community is and will be divided.

I don't judge. Some people are poor and need money and you have to be comfortable with your investment to be able to say no to shady projects. Poor people will always fall victim to scams that are promoted by other poor people because their need of money and greed blinds them.

I just don't ever invest in ICO's anymore and avoid any crypto without a creation cost. No more scams for me.

To be honest, it is hard to stop a scam since they are hard to spot on especially if you are not used to things they do. Scams had been part of this community for so long, even IRL can't stop it, what more in a community where you can't tell who the guys are and decentralization is a thing. The great thing here is that you can create a group or a site where you can warn people about scam projects. You can analyze the project for them and you can tell them which is which. You can't stop scammers to scam but you can raise the awareness of the people and give them the knowledge to prevent them from being scammed.

I think people do what they can. Investors have become smarter and they no longer bring money to scammers. It also affects them and they are getting smaller. But on the whole you are right, we must work together to fight this.

I agree to this one. Unity really will make things possible but how we can do it? Who are the people we should deal with? Is it the right time to release ourselves from the anonymity in Crypto so we can identify who are the real scammers here? I think we really need to know how we can convince everyone.

Yeah we should propose  a plan or any project against  scammers.. because now people  are believing on bitcoin and they are investing in bitcoin.. so be aware from hackers and scammers..

Yes you are right.. but   it is also related to bitcoin.. because  we  should be aware of scammers specially for newbies.. 

Of course, as bounty hunters, we can easily fight off fraudulent projects if we combine our efforts for this. We may well create anti-advertising projects for such projects and many potential investors will then give up their initial intention to invest in such projects, after which they simply will not raise the necessary funds for this.
However, for this it is necessary to have valid reasons to consider a certain project and its team as fraudsters.

Honestly I don't think there's much we can do to stop this scams on the market. The problem is there are always going to be persons, most of them newbies that invest in new ICOs just because they are stupid and look for quick money.

ICO is not the problem. People being foolish with their money is the problem. YOu see these ICO with pictures of people and that is ment to be "trustworthy" people fall for this. Whenever I see photos of the so-called ICO team I run like hell. Knowing who you giving your money to doesn't really matter. What matters is the project. Being anonymous is fine. It is thee projects that try so hard to "prove" themselves they actually just give off all the bad flags but still people fall for it. When they start asking for KYC to stay away. When they promise profits, stay away.  ICO can be very useful it is not the devs fault people give their money to a scam rather then a legit ICO.

I agree on point number one people should stop investing in ICO we have seen so many lost money
on point number two, we already had a lot of investors willing to take a risk in the right project but afraid that they cannot find the right one
and on point number three, nobody wants to invest in a scam project if they know that it is a scam project, and yes we have the scam busters to thank, they really made a great contribution.

A whole lot of bounty managers and crypto project ancillary services will know a project won't go anywhere yet they will advertise it and lure investors into making investment that won't materialize. If the whole community will be vigilant, then it should start from manager on this forum.

Scammers are already part of our cryptocurrency community there is a saying that "a criminal is a saint until he is giving the opportunity" so the only support we can give ourselves is knowing what's real and authentic and what's a scam. Learn from scam events of the past but up  an inquisitive character

We need to try rid ourselves as much as we can of scams. Most are obvious but they really just waste space and time. How great would it be if we knew we would always be paid?

With regards to DT members hopefully, this new trust system will help weed out the scammers and make them more apparent.
