I'll support this idea all the way. This is to encourage the starter who cam to just knew about bitcoin and also to boost the our confidence everytime we read success stories about bitcoin. Also, it is also good if they will also share their hidden strategies on their journey as why they becamr successful.

It is difficult at this time to convince friends and relatives to invest in bitcoin. They could read in the news that bitcoin is down. Very hard to explain that they should buy right now. Although it is quite simple, buy low then sell later at a higher price. They’ve seen me on social media fulfilling travel goals courtesy of bitcoin. I’ll just keep trying.  Wink

Stories like these are very encouraging and has made the impression that people can become rich through bitcoin. Although publications like these would definitely help make the name of bitcoin be better and possibly remove it’s negative associations (like crime and money laundering). Having more books about success stories would also show the benefits there are in bitcoin and how it is much more than just an imaginary coin.

this sounds like an invitation to more weak hands though.
the "adoption" that we are looking for is a real merchant adoption so that bitcoin can be used as a currency, which is what it has always meant to be not an investment which it sometimes is these days.
so if you want to write about your "success story" then write it as a merchant or a customer. about how you got rid of scams such as charge backs and increased your sales. and how you  reached financial freedom by using bitcoin.
Actually for some aspects this could be a good help to the world of digital currency ans so in us also because it could lessen our worked to explain to people the brief history of bitcoin. But at some point also this is not applicable because people today are being so aware what news and information that will have to believe with.

barry silbert (coindesk) HIRED 3 lambo's for the few days and parked them outside. it was just a publicity stunt.

A very bad one. Or what about that Monero baboon with his +$800k watch.  Roll Eyes

I don't like that attention grabbing nonsense and it only distracts attention away from that what really matters. The event itself wasn't all that bad, but it could have been done way better; if there was less circus going there perhaps would be more room for actual worhtwhile development presentation and talk.

I don't want to see lambos or anything pointing out how financially successful someone is. I want to see and better understand how we can improve the fundamentals of crypto. Vitalik for example has all the 'right' to show off his wealth, but he doesn't participate in such act of nonsense. We need more people like him and less of the fools that are looking for spotlight attention.

Posting bitcoin success stories is inspiring and all, but frankly people would only look at the good parts and ignore the negative ones when the time comes that they'll be the ones investing, often resulting into losses and broken dreams. I don't mean to be rude but this only creates an illusion and false hops that everyone can be a millionaire, and you only need the help of bitcoin and crypto to do just that. It would be good if this would actually inspire people to work hard and work smart to achieve whatever it is that they want, but we already know the people of today: they'd always find an easy way out and use shortcuts if they can without assessing the risks of traversing the said path.

I actually agree.
A success of few is not a success of many. And I think that is reality. there are only few who gets lucky at times. It is not negativity but unlike before, it is not as easy to earn bitcoins nowadays.
Inspiring and encouraging is good but we should not let them see that it is easy money.
There are lot of feature that they could benefit from if they are eager to learn and know how things work.
I say share successful stories that are not told like fairy tales and in a way that money will just come rushing their ways while they wait.
Let us tell our hard works too taken with good opportunities and that gave us success.

I was going through a African airport today, on my way back from a project that we launched in Kenya and I saw this book in a little book shop, Mr Bitcoin: How I became a millionaire at 21 by Mpho Dagada

http://jacana.bookslive.co.za/blog/2018/06/07/launch-mr-bitcoin-how-i-became-a-millionaire-at-21-by-mpho-dagada-7-june/

Even though this might not be one of the best books that I have ever read, it shows the success that might be possible, even in countries where you might never have thought that it was possible.

I spend most of my flight home reading the book and it made me think that more people should write books and articles on their successes with Bitcoin to increase adoption.

People like the rags to riches stories and it motivates them to achieve the same level of success.  Wink

Since I have not read this book so I cannot say how good this book is. I a not impressed by the title of book especially the word "millionaire". This will only attract the people for get rich scheme and get scammed.  I believe in attracting the mass with technology or by usefulness not by the money involved.
LN network is not stable right now and I think we have plenty of things to do before it can be adopted by masses.

I agree with you about writing articles and book but title of this book  does not look a good fit to me.

It will be a very good step if we start writing our 'achievements', especially on social media since this is trendy nowadays. It is used every day and it could be a place where we can influence other people.

Where is my ring of blades...
it is good and all to talk about profit and care about it but if you start advertising bitcoin as a way of getting rich then you will also have a lot of bad consequences.
it actually surprises me to see this topic was created recently here despite the fact that we are seeing clear examples of these consequences that I am talking about. when you advertise bitcoin as a way of getting rich you will end up with a market filled with a lot of speculators who don't understand bitcoin (as the only decentralized currency) so they don't care about anything but making money. many of them will also want to become very rich in a very short time and the result will be big bubbles followed by a huge drops and eventually big rich whales who don't care about what bitcoin is and a lot of broke newbies.

To accept Bitcoin, we need to write about its success or to all its success, so that people are encouraged. Because Bitcoin is a profitable business and people are successful by investing in it. Bitcoin is a digital currency that improves the economy of the country and the country. It should be promoted by writing these successes of Bitcoin and campaigning.

People like me who are starters will do as much as possible to up their game and make the bitcoin and other altcoins an interesting venture to change the livelihood of many people.

Yes,you are right this will create a mindset that we also can become millionaire by investing on the crypto currencies but not everyone can be successful here becasue the profits of oe is from another investor so they need to invest at the right time to get succeed. But showing our success story can give them more trust on crypto currency than any other kind of publicity.

It would be a good idea. It could be a fantastic move for positive environment if most of the crypto trader write their success stories that how they manage to achieve the success it helps to motivate other traders or investors. They can share their experiences as well that how they trade or invest and how to analyse the market and what are the things they keep in mind while taking any trade or buying any coin. That way it really helps alot of newbies to improve their skills and will also helpful to implement their strategy for more bitcoin adoption.

I agree, but there are different approaches to talking about success. For instance some people came to Consensus in lambos and parked them outside, which wasn't received well by the community and the media. Most people were calling their behavior childish, so there's a thin line between telling about your success and bragging.

I agree with your opinion. Stories of success from bitcoin earners will help to motivate people and to help them start their new journey as they will be introduced to cryptocurrency but we also have to explain them the right way to become one of those lucky people who became successful through bitcoin and also some disadvantages that they may experience to avoid making them think that it is just a scam.

I think most people not going to spend their time to write a book about how become rich, but unfortunately they always going to make more profit than share their stories with others.
But Mpho dagada is such a great humen being to do such a book and make people more motivate about become rich using bitcoin.

There is one cool project - HelloGold foundation is heavily vested in blockchain technology and focused on expanding the availability of products that are targeted at helping the underserved and unbanked. By supporting in this project, it is possible to support much more startups that will receive grants from HelloGold foundation for their development. And if you join their channels HelloGold and Airdrops.io on Telegram and Twitter you will receive 150 HGT tokens  (~$2 USD).
Anyway, good luck with your investment.
