Hi again.

There's a new service on here that might help you not least with shipping costs:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-general-store-527503

Thanks for the mention!

We've exchanged PM's with BitCambodia and hopefully we can eventually carry some of their products. Realistically, they will probably be small(ish) items (to reduce shipping costs) that will easily pass through customs.

Any suggestions?

What an interesting service you are offering this site and it's memebers I look foward to following you thread and visiting your site as I suspect you will have something I'm looking for.  Gonna have to give this one some thought.

Thanks a lot!  We are looking forward to having our website done in a couple weeks.  Supporting Cambodian businesses and promoting commerce in Bitcoin is what we're all about.  Did you see our first video?  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6PeJX1yMlA&feature=youtu.be

We'll be adding more after the site is finished.

What is the purpose of killing the snake? Is it for decoration or can you eat it?
Supposedly medicinal. FYI you can't import this into the USA because of the snake.
I kind of figured it was for "Medicinal" purposes. I would NEVER buy anything like this. This is just senseless killing of a creature for absolutely no purpose whatsoever.

I'm in UK, so can't take advantage of your US trip. Wish you good luck.

OgNasty is in the top tier of escrow agents. Note the buyer usually pays the escrow fee.

Wild honey is $11 per half liter, it comes from Mondulkiri province.  Let me know if you are interested.

I am. do you escrow? how much to send one half litre no hurry to UK?

There is a collective in Mondulkiri province that collects wild honey and sells it at the market in Phnom Penh.
We made a listing for the honey on cryptothrift: https://cryptothrift.com/auctions/kitchen-and-dinning/1-liter-wild-honey/

Please excuse the product description as not all of us speak fluent English Smiley

Does anyone know of any good Bitcoin marketplaces where we can list our goods?

I appreciate you taking time to look for the items.  However, the shipping seems to be very high, it would cost more than the actual beads themselves.  Also, it seems like you can get Rosewood beads rather cheap, around $10 for more than 108 beads as you can see here:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=ROSEWOOD+MALA+108+BEADS+MEDITATION+5MM

Is there a particular reason why your vendor charges such a higher price?

Yes, shipping is a killer.  We'll keep our eyes out for more reasonably-priced beads.

Yes, slight imperfections are fine.  If he can carve them down to 7 milimeter, I think around 30 beads should be more than enough.  Let me know if you're able to find out what the more expensive wood is and also if it's possible to get a picture of what it looks like.  Thank you.

The 4000-riel beads (4000 riel = $1) are made from Rosewood.  It is more rare and stronger than the 3000-riel variety.  Our man doesn't have any samples at the moment for pictures, but a google search turned up a lot.  Again, since these are hand-carved you can expect the outcome to be not as clean as the google pictures but more in line with the pictures we sent.

The 3000-riel beads (from the picture I sent) are made from what the locals call "Chinese wood," so I can't confirm yet if we are talking about agarwood or not, but I suspect not.

The price stays the same for each no matter what diameter beads you order.  You will need to let me know how you want them strung; ie: in a bracelet, in 2 bracelets, as loose beads, etc.  The stringing is free.

Shipping from Cambodia will be at least $35 and should take less than 2 weeks.  We've shipped light packages for that price to the US (1 week) so I'm estimating a package this weight could cost up to $50.  We will ask around about shipping and send a copy of the receipt with tracking info.

We will make a listing for you on Cryptothrift.com and use their escrow service, unless you have a better idea.  Our fee will be $15 above the estimated total.  We will provide receipts demonstrating the exact amount we paid and any overpayment on your part will be returned.  Since this would be our first sale on the forums I'm more interested in things going smoothly than making money, so I'm hopeful you will decide to move forward.  Let me know your thoughts.

It's easy to do.  The guy in the background of the picture will carve them exactly to your specs.  They are all hand carved so there will be imperfections, which is actually desirable.  We just called them and the quote per beads of that size is the same, 3,000 riel or 75 cents.  He told us the minimum number of beads he will carve is 20, otherwise it is a waste of his time.  He was the cheapest available carver we could find.

There is also a more rare type of wood that he told us about which he sells for 4000 riel per bead ($1).  We are still trying to find a specialist fluent in both languages to translate the names of these woods for us.  I suspect that one of them is Rosewood, and the other is Agarwood, but I cannot say for sure.

Here you go:

http://i.pictr.com/ys8bj4qosl.jpg

We were quoted at 3000 riel per bead, which is about 75 cents each.  The whole necklace was offered at $50.  We are still trying to translate the name of the wood used to create the beads, so I'm unsure if it is "Agarwood."  It is a rare wood and hopefully we can find someone soon who can give us the correct translation.  Let me know if you need more pictures.

The beads look a bit big, I'm looking for something a little smaller, 6MM to 7MM in size.  It will be worn around the wrist so I don't need that many but the color and style is what I am looking for.

Are you able to get any mala beads?

Hi, yes, can you send me a message at bitcambodia @ yandex [dot] com?  Let me know exactly what you are looking for and I'll see what I can do.

Do you escrow?

Looking for agarwood beads, the smaller ones, around 6MM to 7MM in size.

Yes, we can escrow on Cryptothrift or any market of your choice, or perhaps a 3rd party on bitcointalk.

Agarwood...  If you run across any retailers online then we will be happy to translate for you and get it delivered.  In the meantime we'll ask around.  I'm told this is more popular with Chinese monks, but not necessarily Khmer ones.  We'll message you when we locate something.

If you can find Tibetan monk beads of a different wood (but similar size) that would work as well.  Please PM me as I might forget about this thread.  Thanks.

Is this powder?

https://cryptothrift.com/auctions/kitchen-and-dinning/1-kg-saffron-from-cambodia/

What is the difference between powder and thread?

I've searched for it but couldn't find a good explanation!

Can you help me understand?
Since 1g Saffron threads is around 2$ and you are selling 1 kg powder for 10$ I don't know what to think!

It's definitely saffron powder, like as a spice for foods.  I'm not sure what saffron threads is.

As far as bitcoiners coming through Cambodia, I'd be happy to entertain!  Send a PM.

This is saffron threads
And I would like to know if it's the same thing or not Smiley

No its not the same thing, saffron is made from the flowers and the thread is what the flower sit on. The threads can be added to a stew f:ex and then removed just like bay leaf. Its the poor mans version of adding saffron to food.

Hmmm. I think I will be in Cambodia at the end of the year. I might be interested in logistical planing services, horse rental, guide service, etc. near Siem Reap.
