You can take my plurality away from me when you prise my cold dead fingers from it.

You really need to study how Gollum talked in the hobbit stories.

I disagree having read atlas and fountain head there are maybe no more than 2 scenes about the natural world... One in summer vacation of the girl and the chill out morning in the home garden and maybe the last scene in the fountain head with the attack of the installation).

She didn't get that the key word in skyscraper is sky... To see the horizon and not the skyline... Noob, urban Russia girl.

Spendulus, I don't think so. she was a poor urban girl who never so the beauty and majesty of the natural world. She believed in human ingenuity but was unable to contemplate the complexity of the natural world. I never read a line from her expressing admiration for the Creation.

Baddecker she came for the I... Or from my point of view: she thinks... Wink.

Actually, she did express admiration for the natural world.  And it's complexity, etc.  However, she did not find it necessary to extend this to the idea of a "Creator."

Take that for what you will.

No disagreement. But when you put the "I's" together, you have a "WE."

This would be an insult to her, unless she made it available for free or her heir did... Nataniel if my memory serves me?

$

Oh, please. She was a far greater insult to herself, first by not accepting God in her own country. Then, by not accepting God in all the opportunities she had in America. Then by living the life she lived. Then by making selfishness the theme of her life, as shown by her writings. Besides, she is long gone, and wanted her books to be read by all.

It's not "WE the I people." It's "you the WEEperson."

Cool

I guess she would have loved this expression of your individual and personal criticism of her... I think that the biggest weakness in her logic was the negation of the environmental impact of human activities on the Earth... As if building skyscrapers, train tracks and praising them in newspapers was the pinnacle of life on Earth. Typical for an over analyzing Russian girl of her time... She never saw extractive industries in action in Siberia.

Of course she would have loved my expression of criticism. It falls in line with some of her thinking on objectivism. After all, she didn't come over here to see all the "skyscrapers, train tracks" and "extractive industries," etc.  She came over here to get away from an oppressive government and execution by it. Just because her objectivism and mine are at odds with each other...

I'm sure she saw and was deeply knowledgeable of industry, technology and mining as it was done in the 1930-1960 timeframe, which was the primary timeframe when she wrote.

She predicted fracking, which we now use.

Books have various rights, sometimes copyright is held by a publisher.  Sometimes nobody cares.

Try for a laugh, Abbie Hoffman's book entitled "Steal This Book."

Thank you very much for the reading recommendation... I understand why she needed a break... It's a long story. But I am very big fan of her. Typical writing from smart analytical Russian girl... With atlas shrugged, one of my continuous recommendation. I will write a short post once read. Thx again Spendulus. (But first I would like to read : Scared animal of India written by Krishna).

Sure, but note - Anthem is a short story, maybe 1/2 novel length.  Atlas is a long story.

The WEists are the evil people of OUR time, they always speak or write using WE. They never say I. WE can't tolerate that any longer. WE the Ipeople must engage the WEism ideology in a battle of ideas.

I don't understand the point of saying we... Example:

We don't understand the point of saying we! It implies at least two Ipeople.

Basic grammar: 1 people = I; 2 or more Ipeople = we.

WE the Ipeople    Mwahahahahahaha.

I a WEpeople think that all the Ipeople should get together in a group so the WEpeople can find out if they are truly Ipeople or not.

 Grin

WE the Ipeople agree to YOUR idea! WE are on this post. Those Ipeople choosing to become WEist by taking the tenet of WEism will be forced to exile from the Ipeople as long as they chose to express themselves using the WE.

WE the Ipeople have decided.

P.s WE are using number 5. From moloch list.

Lol, you should check out the novel "Anthem" by Ayn Rand.  Here's a brief description.

In the summer of 1937, Rand took a break from working on The Fountainhead to write the novelette called Anthem, a short, highly stylized tale of a future dystopia so saturated in collectivism that the word “I” has disappeared from the language.

I don't understand the point of saying we...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_we

Quote
The royal "we", or majestic plural (pluralis majestatis in Latin, literally, "the plural of majesty"), is the use of a plural pronoun to refer to a single person holding a high office, such as a sovereign (e.g., a monarch or sultan) or religious leader (e.g., the Pope or a bishop). The more general word for the use of we to refer to oneself is nosism.

Quote
1 The royal "we" or pluralis majestatis
2 The editorial "we"
3 The author's "we" or pluralis modestiae
4 The patronizing "we"
5 The non-confrontative "we"
