Catalog Websites
Hi everybody,

I just launched my new website www.crypto-hardware.com. It is a website about hardware wallets and seed backup accessories, focused on education with a knowledge base. It works with affiliate links.
I am really interested in your first reactions to the website. The look and feel, the content, etc.. Anything to get me going and start an amazing portal for years to come. The biggest focus will be new crypto enthusiasts.

Very nice contribution to the blockchain hardware space but looking intrinsically, I do not see the UI/UX as that of wallets or one that sells or deals on hardware wallets. Apart from the image of wallets on display, it still doesn't give the tech feel. This is just my take anyways, others might see it differently.

Added comparison functionality. Might tweak it some more, but like it so far.
Nice addition, but I think it could've been better if it automatically deselected itself when navigating to a different page [as it stands, it requires removing them one by one].
- FWIW, I'd love to also see a comparison option for the seed backup page.

I can not reproduce the overlapping texts. So I think it might have been some old cache... So you two probably looked right while I was editing the website I guess! If you still see it please let me know. And thanks for posting anyway Wink
Old cache can't be the issue because I used web browsers that never visited crypto-hardware.com and/or they didn't have any history.
Anyway, I am checking now again and it looks fine now, no more overlapping text.

Added comparison functionality. Might tweak it some more, but like it so far.
Four wallets is maximum number for comparison?

I changed the font after all the comments. I liked it, but was the only one I guess haha.
You made some mistake when you changed the font, maybe it has to do something with size, but small text (check link for current price) is overlapping with prices for all hardware wallets.
I tried testing and opening website in several different browsers and I got exactly the same results.
Check below screenshoot example:

Either you move text to different position or change font size to fix this.

but for most users the site should be fine to use right?
Only if I use or rather force HTTPS on it and since it appears that there are no redirects to HTTPS, then I have a feeling some of your users are suffering from the non-stop circular progress bar that appears on some of its sections [e.g. latest resources and hardware lists (it's worth noting that templates loaded perfectly)].
- BTW, I noticed HW prices are partially overlapping a text.

Also, buddy not sure what night mode what as I haven't checked by switching the mode because currently, I'm not writing a detailed review haha just giving quick thoughts on the Price section of the product or in professional terms the cards of the product are not effective there you need to use card elevation make them more prominent and the text color is same as background it's not at all visible. Hmm putting a Screenshot.

This part I don't really understand. And the 'screenshot' is really different than the website, so can you explain?

Thanks everyone for the comments and positive feedback.

I changed the font after all the comments. I liked it, but was the only one I guess haha.

Still working on improving the speed. Mobile is now 70, desktop 90 (homepage). Mobile still too slow, but for most users the site should be fine to use right?

Working on other functionalities after that…

Well-developed website, the appearance is attractive, but the font used, in some parts of the texts, makes it difficult to read (especially for those who are not fluent in English).

As for speed, I saw some people talking about it, I didn't see any problems, on my computer the site loaded relatively quickly.

I checked the site on “Page Speed Insights” and “GTMetrix”, and both tests got good ratings. Only mobile performance was slightly below, but nothing that is complicated to improve.

Keep up the work!

i was going through here so i thought i must share my POVs as well hehe. Well i think it's not a big deal as they just launched this Website couple of days so i mean its just beginning so everything needs time to groom. Things changes time to time so they will add more feature or colour scheme according to their desire or their consumer demands maybe. well i would like to appreciate crypto-hardware.com they did good work even it was just beginning. i also agree with Faisal2202 as he said everyone has there own POVs.... so i prefer to say both of your opinion are respectable. Many Thanks
Actually the thing is every user or customer who will start to visit this website will get the first impression by speed first if the speed is good then they will start to praise or not praise the color scheme because i have seen many websites having the worst color schemes but best speed optimization which ensures the interest of there readers towards that websites. i hope point i am trying to made here is understandable.

And i do agree with you too, but i think you do not have to care about our review instead you have to care about what you liked in this and what suggestion you have in your mind for this website.

A few Changes are needed in the design and it will be great, Rest the idea is great also buddy I'm not sure if you've added most of the Hardware wallets or not or if you are still working on the Filters because there's nothing in the filters.
I do know you must have read my recommendation to umeridrees in local board where i used this website as an example to give him a idea or take an idea about how he could make a website. I advoce him because i liked the layout liked the text because they just not copied or bought some theme instead they come up with unique set of designs in the theme and they also have good website content even the color issue you are referring to i think is some issue on only your aide because I did not faced any issue like this.

But still, everyone has there own POVs and you have your own so i can not disagree with you. You like the website in your own way and i like it in the way they have already made as this is something new and unique. But hey why are we so serious here because this website is still new and finding of error is normal here so let's chill and wait for the owners to make some good changes but i prefer the theme must be the same as it kinda feel cools. Hehe.

You guyz nailed it, really, i loved the website, the design, UI is so sophisticated and easy for a newbie like me to understand anything. Basically, i as a HW seeker will only look at the best choices i have in my budget and at filter you guys implemented in the "Select your Hardware Wallet" section is awesome and enough for me to search.

You guys should make some article of comparison like an affiliate articles to help users to understand which which wallets would be best for them and add your suggestions in the those articles. That will help them a lot. Otherwise, i think you must have this idea in your minds. And again i loved the website keep it up the handwork you guys are putting there.

Haha, I was going to tag my fellow that, Theme is clean but it's rough looking a very nonprofessional one, don't take it as I'm being offensive they can keep the UI clean still if they focus on the eye-catching color scheme and also this Font type ohh it sucks bro please make it normal or something else because it's affecting the overall readability. There are my review comments rest is ALL-OKK. A good initiative I would recommend is to choose a color scheme like 3 main color plates Orange, Black, and White. Even Blue, Black, and White will also be a decent choice but the Primary color should not be Black or White.

Yeah, the website is too slow. Troubles with CDN. Working on it...

Also, added a disclaimer about the affiliate links in the mission statement AND the footer. Should be clear now Wink

Plus, deleted the pop-up. Agree it is annoying.

It's good to see that you positively accept suggestions and criticism  Wink

You should also mention that a lot (all?) of your links to buy are referral links.

Actually OP mentioned it, but you seem to have missed it.

It is a website about hardware wallets and seed backup accessories, focused on education with a knowledge base. It works with affiliate links.
~snip~

It's mentioned HERE, I did not see it anywhere on the site. Most places doing things like this have a line about things purchased from clicking on links here generate referral revenue for us. If it's there I did not see it.
Personally I don't care, but I know there is a fine line in some parts of the world on what you have to have on your site when putting things like that up there.

If I may ask, why is it so important if affiliate links are posted and why does it have to be emphasized? I often see this kind of complaint, but I never understood why, given that it is a completely legal way of doing business and promotion.

I'm not trolling with this, I just don't understand the importance of highlighting when it comes to affiliate links to legitimate services.

I just checked your website and it loads easily. Have you updated your CDN?

One thing I can nitpick is probably the filter option. The difference between "also altcoins" and "optional bitcoin only" is quite unclear. Maybe adding a pop-up explanation would be better when the user hovers over it, or just delete and improve the filter altogether. As of now, it seems like it refers to the same thing.

It seems that the site is just a little slower, so it takes an unusually long time to load.
I didn't notice this, nor did I notice any newsletter subscription popup, maybe because my uBlock origin extensions killed them all quietly Wink

- Didn’t know about thebitcoinhole.com, will have a closer look. First impression is it is very nice, but maybe a bit more for the advanced crypto user (?)
Well yeah, I guess he started everything in bitcointalk forum, and we are all super-advanced crypto users here (not) Wink
I don't think thebitcoinhole.com website is hard to use for anyone, including for newbies.

Plus, deleted the pop-up. Agree it is annoying.
If you want people to sign up for something maybe you can add it in menu tab.

OK, I managed to open the site this time, although I still got a 504 Gateway Time-out error once. OP, I think you have bad hosting, because as others have noted, your website is very slow to load. You can also try to optimize some things to speed it up and consider using a caching plugin. Check the results with some benchmark test, like https://gtmetrix.com/ or https://pagespeed.web.dev/.

Regarding the content of the site, the first thing I would personally remove is the newsletter pop-up. Newsletters are old school, and almost no one uses them anymore. Instead, use social media to inform your followers about new updates on your site. You can leave the newsletter sign-up somewhere in the footer of the website.

All in all, nice job! Just keep improving and adding content.

Side note about that, unless you really have to do not use 3rd party links for the referral link unless you have to. A lot of security / adblock things will stop them.

My pi-hole stopped me from going to a couple of places on your site because of that.

It seemed to me that you got inspiration from that page, because if you start your website, then it would be logical that you first check if there is something similar. Personally, I don't think it's intended for advanced users, because what's advanced in HW reviews or book recommendations about Bitcoin?

You have some wallets listed with known issues: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/safepal-s1-wallet-have-serious-flaws-5317884 there are others that is the only link I have handy.
Same with the seed backup plates, some have issues with not being that sturdy. This really should be pointed out.
As others have said site is very slow.

Thanks for the comments so far! Some responses:
- New content and hardware wallets and accessories will be added
- Comparison table is on my to do list
- Newsletter pop-up, I will consider removing it. Have to way the pro’s and con’s
- I changed the H1 font somewhat, so it should be easier to read
- Didn’t know about thebitcoinhole.com, will have a closer look. First impression is it is very nice, but maybe a bit more for the advanced crypto user (?)
- There already is a privacy policy page
- Will be adding more search filters and features in the future

Thanks guys!

Great effort, the site is very slow, so you may need to move to better servers, the interface is beautiful, although I did not like the fonts, but they are good.
You do not have a privacy page.you need to change some information in the FAQ or specifically add a comparison between hardware wallets, which one is better, and tips before buying.
The search options are  good, please add an option to review/score Hardware wallets, whether it is your point of view, or from users, or from any source and some privacy options like support TOR, full node.

It's not something we haven't seen before, and maybe you got an idea from one such project that is already very well known to those who visit the Development & Technical Discussion board. To me, the first website is much better because it is designed with much better quality and provides much more information, but that does not mean that you cannot be a good competitor if you make an effort.

Is your site currently operational?
It's working fine for me.

It seems that the site is just a little slower, so it takes an unusually long time to load.

crypto-hardware.com, is a slightly unusual choice of domain for a website dealing with wallets. At first, I thought it was about mining hardware.
OP, can you remove the newsletter subscription popup, it's irritating.
Also, the H1 font is desperate, it is tiring to read, a site that prefers to be informative, must be comfortable to read.

Apart from the transmitted information from each manufacturer, I have not seen a single wallet where any criticism or opinion has been expressed. Real user feedback is missing.

Nice looking website but I think you are missing a bunch of hardware wallets there (Passport, OneKey, Satoship, Cypherock X1, etc) so you need to research more and add them all.
Maybe you can also add dimension for all devices, and some kind of comparison for two or more different wallets.
Good starting point can be my list of Open Source hardware wallets, but there are other closed source devices out there that I don't recommend:
