I'm assuming this website is;

A) free, which is cheaper than meetup.com &
B) trying to be bitcoin centric to be a one stop shop for people looking for bitcoin meetups specifically.

Competition never hurt anyone... except the over priced preceding business, right?

So I finally clicked on the site & this is what I see:

Looks like Ron Whales/bitscript is a popular guy.   I guess this is the account/script which is running the service/connecting the wbesite to the Skype groups.

I assume Skype is handy because these conversations & history are like chat rooms.

I could see myself using one of these when I'm going to visit a city & want to check in with the local community.

If someone is in the chatroom, then I can connect in real time, or perhaps talk to them before visiting.  It may be more convenient than posting here looking for people's feedback because you can connect real time.

If no one is sitting around by their computer, or if their phone sucks (like mine does), then perhaps you can leave a message and the next time someone looks at the chatroom, (maybe once monthly or weekly), respond at that time?

Am I missing anything?  I'll get something going for Cleveland, or get someone else on it later this month.

Good work.

Thanks Niamh, it has been fun so far.

Whereabouts are you and would you like to join or create a local group by chance?

Austin, TX has a huge Bitcoin community and very active:
http://www.meetup.com/BitcoinAustin/

That's nice, could you add it to the list? Just click edit data and copy paste one of the previous entries to get the formatting right.

Also, if you add the Skype user specified we can create an Austin Skype group for local voice group discussions and meetings.
