If you have a concern in trading of altcoin,you should choose a long term trading.Because the price of altcoin will not raise huge value as like a bitcoin.If the choosen altcoin is centralised one.Even we can predict the price fluctuations. I will use this strategy to inverse in altcoins.For the bitcoin,I had different strategies.Use to buy a bitcoin at every dump and just holding it for my retirement. Grin

I am trading with many exchange site too like you said, I can buy a lot of coins but many of them are not giving a good progress to increase the coin price and until now, the coin is still slept and not trying to increase. maybe I am wrong in this section but I still hold it for a long term because I have a feeling that in someday, all of my coins will give me a nice profit and I can wait for a long time for this. but now, I am trying to selecting the coin that has a good progress in the short-term like for example, the coin will increase at least 6 months only so I can get the profit in early times.

I don't do that kind of trading. You got to be careful if you are thinking of doing that because your coins might be the just like the other coins who are now delisted entirely and just become the thing of the past after 5 years. 2-3 years only should be the maximum holding time for any coin.

If they choose the best coins like Bitcoin,Ethereum and EOS then after 5 years they may gain a lot from it but it would be unfortunately for them if they choose the crap coins in which their holding and waiting will be wasted. Therefore we should choose carefully our coins if we want to engage in long term investments.

I quit trading just few months ago, I found trading really risky, specially for me, I am newbie in trading. I decided to stop day trading and start to invest in some ICO. If you really don't have time in trading, you will end up losing.

That's a good idea! Someday, I want also to make my portfolio and select the coins that I will hold for a long term and coins that I will use to gain a daily income in trading. But as of now, I am just looking more on the strategies that I need to apply so that I will earn much.

Trade is good but these days the market is very poor and bad. Have an asset which was $250 some weeks now it $100. What will advice investors is that they should wait till market recovery.

I got a few small coins from the beginning of trading coin but then I made the mistake of buying large quantities at high prices but forced to sell cheap. I advise you not to trade without experiences.

I believe the OP means long term investment, for the people that believe in an ICO usually they will aim for long term, or for the people that don't have time to focus on the market movement, then long term investment is really suitable, for myself I do both, I keep some of the special coin that I think got potential for long term, and for short term I usually search for the top 10 coin, or I trade infamous coin when there are events

I would be careful with this approach. This worked maybe a few years ago when bitcoin and crypto was not famous at all. Today scammers are aware that many invest in anything and hope that they will be rich in a few year. This doesn't work.

I was also too late for the gold times of crypto and therefore had no extra ordinary trades.

Your statement is confusing. I, myself to is doing that, I buy coins and I just left it there for quiet a while then I would sell it if it goes up and do it again until I got a lot of Bitcoin.

pervios i trade day to day,i use margin,i always buy and sell and i loss money,i see if i trade days to days i only make exchange become richer so i change my method,i buy and hold for long time and wait the price go up,patient is key,if you can patient you can take hight profit but you have to chosen good coins

I really don't understand your question, do you mean that the coins just existed for 5 years without any trades or volumes. If that is that case then exchanges should have de-listed them by now. Care you share what coins you are talking about here? Perhaps what you are describing is a coin that didn't remain dormant for 5 years, maybe just a few trades here and there but then suddenly pump up by certain groups to make a lot of profits. If you are lucky enough to get in before or even bought it in the beginning then for sure it would make sense that you can also make tons of money from it. That's the beauty of what we call "HODL".

Trading does not mean that you buy a coin and wait a few years will change your life. You should trade all the time, you will earn more than wait a few years

I call it investment using long term period, mostly only buy top 3 from the list because top list have bigger chance to survive. Actually I want use that strategy but I only have small capital, in this cases bigger fund is needed. I only use short - medium term period and replace it into top 5 coins. Have 1 - 2 years patience and get 20% profit is really good for me. As long you can enjoy the journey, any strategy will be fine.
