Besides Bitcoin / Ethereum, what alt-coin do you feel is the most superior "other" cryptocurrency?

Many didn't follow directions so I'll remove those poll answers. Sorry for the delay on this but I've been super busy with work, forgot about coming back to share more info about the poll results.

I was interesting to see everyones responses though

I'm putting together a graphic/chart with poll results now and will post back shortly with link

If I have to pick, I will pick Ethereum first, it's technologically advanced and has its very own differentiating factor: it's not competing with BTC but a complementary. With future Plasma update, it will be very useful;

Otherwise, I don't know if DAG coins like byteball counts, as final users dont really care about the difference between chains or dag tables...

PPC. It's the first proof-of-stake coin and it's price is relatively stable which would make it favourable to merchants who might need to convert to fiat for paying suppliers and so forth, which is rather difficult with Bitcoin due to its volatility.

I think monero is the best and solid coin existing so far, I don't take into account new coins and tokens I think their short term value does not show its superiority. This is a heavy sea, we should wait more.

May currently NEO has the highest volume but from the first ETH remain stable with high polum. Many project contracts are using ETH so I think ETH will stay ahead of NeO

I think NEO is a perfect coin, it will surpass ethereum or atleast be on par with it next year, and for gamers i believe newfound Dmarket coin might be amazing if it happens like said in whitepaper.

Litecoin is the perfect value coin for saving.

If any coin could surpass the value of Bitcoin and become the #1 coin, I will have no doubt it is the more superior than Bitcoin, so far I have yet to meet one. Grin

People are responding to the poll and choosing tokens - I had was mainly trying to gauge the wider crypto community's feeling in what the future holds for potential coin that could someday compete with Bitcoin down the road. If Bitcoin continues to have drama, chain splits, etc there could be opportunity for other coins to compete on a much larger scale than what we see today (ie Litecoin).

It is very unlikely that a token used for network or service like IOTA, NEO, SC would be one of those that competes for currency use which is why I wanted to limit it to just coins that are INTENDED to be used as a currency or store of value.

I do plan to do another poll that asks what you feel is the "superior" other crypto that IS a token used for network or service usage. To me this is a different question than the poll I'm asking currently

I believe XTRABYTES will dominate in the coming years for a few simple technical reasons.

No POS, No POW, uses a unique way to sign blocks that solves 51% attack so it is essentially the most secure chain in existence. Its infinitely scalable, and can run on zero fees.

It is one of only a handlful of actual platforms that allow building of modules but unlike ETH almost any programming language can be used. Even modules can be built upon other modules!

Core code will be released in about a month.

Primary used as a currency?   Not even bitcoin can claim that.
If that's your criteria,  then doge would be one.  Lot of people do use it as
money.  Monero, too.  That one is used in some gaming things.
The vast majority of coins are nothing more than speculative digital
assets, and a thread like this is just going to encourage people
to tell you what their favorite coin is, regardless of actual quality.

Your right, I edited it to included "intended to be used primarily"

We reached 100+ responses sooner than I thought, I'm working on a better chart that should also be easier to read than the Google summary page

the problem with asking a question like this is that people will vote for the coin they have invested in and want it to get pumped so they can dump it as fast as possible and take the bitcoin out which they want to hold and believe in.

you can start asking each person who votes why and you'll see if they are honest they say "because it is a good investment"

This is true but we are all holding multiple tokens. I am holding around 7 tokens and if you ask me my favorites I will mention 3. The way that this will work is that if we all are mentioning the same thing then crowd sentiment is worthwhile.

So what I hold which I believe has the best potential:

Ethereum
Dash
Waves

I would still stick with Litecoin. LTC has been around for a while and a lot of people are using it. Other newer alts such as Ethereum and Ripple don't have any technological advantage over Litecoin.

What you meant by technological advantage? Are you trying to refer to segwit. Well in that case ltc is first and as for now only coin to activate segwit (btc going to join segwit club soon). This activation helped it rising from $5-6 to $50 this year. But ahead now, I don't think ltc has matching potential to new player in market like waves and stratis. I suggest people to jump over these coins and earn 10-20 times of your investment instead of making 50-60% from ltc in next one year.
