All those "tokens-backed-by-something" coins have always end up in disaster, so im not sure about that.

It looks like all coins are green again today. Alts definitely just follow what bitcoin does, including the top5.

I do only have beliefs on XRP and WAVES which are really good and does have potential and im waiting for a cheaper price before i decide to purchase even more. i like to give a chance too new coin that have good promise, like bitcore, that retain what bitcoin is an dadd what is missed, like segwit and 20 mb block limit, the devs are nice and always active, there is also an aidrop that work like byteball where you can connect your wallet and receive for free bitcore

the only problem is that most people are only telling you about the coins which they are bag holding not investing in, meaning they will praise these coins when their prices fall hard so maybe someone falls for it and starts buying them.
it is sometimes good to find out about coins you didn't know about before though.

There are quite a few, where people list coins that they hold, and some even provide reasons why they think, mentioned coins will rise. I would advise you to look into Iconomi and Stratis. But i also think, almost all coins are in the process of rising right now, you can see the graphs on coinmarketcap, all bounced back up, so you can't really pick a wrong coin at this moment.

Yeap I bought more STRATIS in the dip, trying to accumulate slowly with any trading profits from other coins. Also picked up some nxt as we will get free IGNIS token third quarter of 2017 and also etc and eth. I also collect JANUS TOKEN as it is way under priced and undervalued, but that doesn't trade on POLO. I get a dividend every month and they are a token backed by real business and they are building their third business now which is a social fintech site for forex. It should be in beta version mode in the Summer.

It is really difficult to trust all the ethereum based tokens as you never know what the future holds for them,now everyone is starting a token based on ethereum which is a boost for ETH tokens as people will be using their gas to send all the tokens but i still doubt whether all these tokens are really worth it in the long term and when the price of ETH goes down expect all of these tokens to go down as well which is a shitty situation if you are invested in it.

I'd recommend Ripple and Nem, I'm sure they will bounce back very high when the slump is over and will earn you big percentage in profit.
Nem is already consolidating, but time to buy Ripple is perfect at the moment.
