Keep on investing in top 10. Watch trade volume on biggest exchange. Learn what 'blow of the top' is, and sell that.

I would advise you to look up Iconomi. They will release their platform for all users this year, currently in beta. Expect the price to rise even more after the release, and Iconomi is a great project overall.

Like the idea of the top - if you had spread your money equally in the top 10 market cap or top 10 volume, you would be VERY happy after 6 months.  Future is always dim.

I like putting money into the top 20 or so, and scraping profits as they rise, so a 30-60% viscous pullback doesn't whack me.

But there are those coins that are interesting to look at, invest, and speculate on, since some can give a 10X or higher in short periods.

Interesting ones I have money in, and am thinking there are higher levels to be seen:

Infinite/IFC (almost looks like it's in pump now)
Unitus/UIS (has new wallet, price history looks interesting)
POSW (unsure - has been declining since I bought)
LBRY Credits/LBC (volume increasing, price has yet to move much, interesting tech)
Siacoin/SC (currently in straight up pump, lots of articles on this board on SC)
Radium/RADS (new wallet, interest from outside investors, has updated tech)
Bitcent/BYC (new wallet coming, interesting price movements lately, been out a while)
Feathercoin/FTC (also new wallet, claims tech improvement over BTC (who doesn't say that), improving market share)
Komodo/KMD (like shift, visa card tie-in, making strides to bridge crypto and fiat)
Wild Beast Block/WBB (lots said about this boy, have had decent returns so far)

Many of these have already been discussed here.  Some have new wallets coming out, which will generate interest, some are considered undervalued (if there is such a thing),  some have risen nicely, but not to their all time highs, and some have market cap increasing without price increasing.

One of two of the above (POSW) has only gone down since purchased, but it doesn't seem to follow the pumpandpump graph of many, so unsure why it's declining.  The rest are somewhat speculative, but have potential to me.

Just take the daily profit, for me the money must spin fast. Take the decision to buy newly emerged coins and old coins. DGB I think is good enough to wait ...

right now it is not such a good idea to invest in any of the altcoins since they are all in big bubbles and the only logical way to go for them is to get dumped when their bubbles burst. and when a dump begins nothing much can stop it.

but generally i would invest in altcoins that have one of these following things:
- they have not been pumped yet
- they have something coming up like the SegWit and LN for litecoin
- they have dipped hard so that i can buy in dip and sell the fast like in 4 hours.

I like your strategy very simple but yet effective. The only capital besides money here is time. You have to choose from the variety of altcoins that has not been pumped yet. So you have to invest a lot of your time to look for this several altcoins. There are a lot of altcoins that has not been pumped yet, but you have very selective of it because you don't know when are groups going to pump it and go with them if this happens to profit.

Ethereum should be a good choice to invest because they are quite active and also promoting it very nicely. Recently even darknet as accepted it as a payment network on their site. As long as if more and more people start using a coin. Its demand and popularity will go up and prices also slowly move up. Soon bitcoin transaction fees will not be good for the smaller transaction so sure another altcoin will pick up for the smaller transaction, and Eth has an excellent opportunity.
Ethereum is a great investment indeed. But I think now the price is too high, it is risky to invest in it. Perhaps it will rise and cost a lot more than $100 but who knows when this will happen. The same holds for litecoin. The price is quite down now. I am waiting for it to become around $20 or a bit less and then I'll definitely buy some.
Other coins might be good as a temporary investment but then you have to be very careful and react fast on price changes.
Altcoins are still growing in price. I think now is not the time to invest but to wait and see what happens.

Viacoin

has alredy Segwit coded, it's only waiting the pool to update to the new version of code.

Also Anon transaccions alredy coded, waiting for segwit activated to implement it.

I expect at least a little jump in the following weeks

Is factom FCT A  good buy ?
It does have some upward potential however you're never 100% sure. I've bought some and I hope to see some nice returns at the end of may. If not I'll hold it long term maybe it will get pumped somewhere in the next few months.

I think both FCT Factom and inpay look like interesting projects.  I've bought both of these to hold for long term.

Been investing in the top 10 but i was wondering what everyones thoughts are on  counterparty XCP ?
If you looking for a good altcoin to invest in you can try out creditbit, reasons why:

1.The altcoin that has been around since 2015 without devs dumping project
2. The benefit of the project to you is you get to enjoy varying interests on your funds if you stake them on your trezor wallet
3. There is an also an active community to help with any problems you run into

don't invest in ico, invest in good altcoin with pow phase and good distribution
Why not? . Scam ICOs are exist and you can't avoid that but you can minimize the risk with search regarding info and team behind them as well with some escrow to avoid your money get stolen by those scammers.

We can't predict which coins are good to invest.
- Look at ICONOMI it pumps to 42k satoshi now.
- Also other altcoins get dumped today.

Choose carefully.

don't invest in ico, invest in good altcoin with pow phase and good distribution, unlike free distribution or ico/ipo, they give the opportunity for small miners to have equal numbers of coins, if they come early, there are a bunch of new coin now that are good, like sweepstake bitcore, and netko, which is a bit old but very udnervalued
