Last August I think a nice altcoin is a Neo and EOS also. even to this day I feel both are still very potential. and I am sure will have a good future. then I also still hodl until today.

Stellar? Even all other token price fall down to the deep stellar still on the top? With many big update coming I believe Stellar is the best coin of this years. but for this month I don't know.

For august, I believe the maximum announcements, updates, etc were over ICON (ICX), but now its September and the latest news is smart contracts are enabled on WAVES and thats one big news, I hope a lot much potential on Waves in the current trend.

I think these coins DEX, IOTA, Waves are better perspective and the growing the price. I hope its price will be grow more in these next few months. 
Maybe mana (decentralnd), waves, and of course dogecoin. Nice pump , now dogecoin near top-20 cryptocurrency
Countinghouse (CHT) was the best project in August itvhas been the best project I'm cryptocurrency for a while nkw, with the team registering growths every week despite the massive fall in the market.
Cryptassist (CTA) had a good ICO which ended in August and it seems to be a good project. We have to waif till it gets listed later this month.
MOBU is also a solid project, having a very successful ICO. The sky is it's limit.

In my opinion, Cardano is great coin to buy in August. it is a member of the new generation of cryptocurrency, coming in after Bitcoin and Ethereum in the crypto-evolution cycle. It has a great potential.
I do not choose the best coin yet , because the market has dropped many lower than necessary . Just watch those that I were a betting man and will buy and further if the price will fall further
The best coin in the month of August 2018 is xlm it remain 0.2 for a while now no matter how low ETH or bitcoin it remain 0.2 dollar

The market is now in such a position that you can buy all the best coins at a very attractive price. But the bomb coin now I do not see, which is growing no matter what. Now is not a good time for everyone
