You are absolutely correct, that is why we have rules and regulations for newbies to read before posting or quoting anyone here because it's very essential.

So that they won't fall a victim of any rules governing this forum and being a part or a member of this forum is one of the best thing that will happen to us as humans especially the way our country is now, you won't only have the idea of Bitcoin but you will be proud of having the knowledge of Bitcoin, because you will learn how to invest or trade and so on from other investors just like you said earlier and it's very helpful in some areas of our life.

The board has a wild range of boards that will educate you in any part you choose, but it depends on you and your level of understanding, of how the forum works. There are much things to learn, ranging from politic and society, economy, bitcoin discussion, gambling, beginners and help for a beginner, and also off topic. Which I think off topic board is the best place to discussed this situation of health issues either the general off topic or the local board off topic. Asking about what people have learnt, there asleep so many benefits one can lean from the forum which has been stated by some members in this thread but what I can say in addition is that
1 it has developed my reading skill and increased my writing skill as well.
2. I have been able to learn more about bitcoin which is the interior motive of coming here.
3. It helps me to be creative and try to see the other version of me.
4. I have been able to make money from it and also have learnt to invest my money wisely.
5. It makes me to understand the perfect meaning of the word "no time is wasted" sometimes I am eger to use my time well as a form of making post and  interacting with other learned colleagues which makes me also more valid and important to the society, when you are out. Because you will surely speak like a leaned person because of your conversation with such people In The forum.

What you would learn in this forum all depends on what you are willing to take in. So many persons have been in this forum and has refused to learn anything. Every board in the forum has several specific reasons and engaging in conversation in those board teaches you a lot if you attentively flow in the conversation. Meanwhile to be a good poster you must be willing to read topics and conversations and try to understand what the topic of discussion is before joining in the conversation. Furthermore, you can continue to create interesting topic for discussion, do not hesitate to share information's that are useful for the forum, that is one good way to engage in the forum.

On this forum a lot of profitable information are shared that would and could benefit everyone even those that that not interested in buying bitcoin and one of those woudl be financial literacy, you woudl learn how to better equip and set up yourself and manage your finances no matter how little the income maybe and also plan for the future by investing. You would also learn about security and how to stay safe from scam and keep your asset secure in a wallet by protecting your keys.

It's good to be creative in whatever you post here and that means that you can be more knowledgeable about a particular area and thus infuse it into what is very much relatable to, in this forum.

You can benefit from bounties, from campaign signatures, from contest and reviews that is sure to earn you good amount of coins and reputation here. Along with the ANN section where you can advertise your graphics design skills, development skills and other much needed skills and likely get jobs that will of course pay very well.
The knowledge of the cryptocurrencies marketplace would also become more tacit and your awareness about the decentralized space and your financial life would be clearly visible as benefits to learn outside Bitcoin while joining this community.

The forum is vast and has several sections where different topics are been treated. You will hardly see where health related discussion are going on here. Bitcointalk forum is more of financial and economic activities. Health is a more complicated issues and not everyone has sound knowledge about health issues. Health issues are best left for trained professional who have the adequate knowledge. But when it comes to financial and economic matters everyone is involved in it. And if you check very well in this forum only few can contribute when it comes to health issues.

Actually I really don't know of others, as for me, I have learnt some vital things in this forum that has impacted my daily lives, and one of them is not depending on a single income; it somehow sounds crazy the way we usually says it every now and then but it has really helped me a lot in my life outside this forum, look at me today, I was working as a contract staff with Guinness when I came into this forum, I started working on having more than a single income when I started hearing, don't depends on a single income in this forum, I started a crypto trading class that I paid for, from then till now, I have grown drastically, even when the Guinness contract job I was doing wasn't renewed, it doesn't take a toll on my finances, because I was already stable in my trading abilities, I no longer blow account of different sizes like when I started, I now make money from it now, added with the money am getting from signature campaign in this forum, so I never felt the impact of losing my Guinness job.

Another thing that is have learnt in my stay in this forum is self development, I have learnt that in this life that we are, things wouldn't get easier, you, you just have to get tougher, and for you to do that you just have to invest in yourself because nothing beats self investment, since I started investing in myself, I realized that I have more to offer than I initially thought that I couldn't.

There are many other vitals things to learn from the forum apart from bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general. You just have to know what you're in for in particular or specifically but I'll advise you put bitcoin (cryptocurrency) at the very core.

We have the Politics and society board and just as the board name implies it discusses everything about politics both locally and internationally.

Then the economic board , everything about global economy and domestic as relevant as it should be. In other words it treats on financial discussions.

The gambling discussion board, it's all about sports, you can learn a lot about any type of sports event and informations too from there.

And a lot more boards away from bitcoin... I You have to go through the forum yourself in search for these boards it part of what it's expedient of you as a newbie to do by yourself.

You should start by reading the pinned topics on top of the this board written by Cryptopreneuerbrainboss, Charles-Tim and Igebotz. Those topics will guide you on how to how to go about your posting in this forum. Bitcoin is the major discussion here because that was the reason Satoshi Nakamoto created this forum, to share knowledge, pass information on bitcoin network.

There are a lot of things to learn here apart from bitcoin but it depends on your own area of interest. The skills that you will learn here are good writing skills, how to communicate with people in discussions and how to express yourself. You will learn the technical aspect of bitcoin and you will also learn how to invest in bitcoin and hodli for a long time. I believe that 50% of forum members have bitcoin and most of them were motivated from here to invest in bitcoin which they are happy that they did. If you are serious to learn here, you will improve financially.

As the name implies “Bitcointalk”  bitcoin na the main reason this forum come into existence. So basically 80% about everything for this forum na bitcoin. Also other things are been discussed. Like politics, gambling, sports and so more. Other things of low or no relevance are also been discussed in off-topic too. But Bitcoin is what carries the main body of this very platform.

Well it good such question is coming from a newbie, so I go just use this medium tell u say make your try tour round the forum, read more and create lesser thread for now.

the most important thing joining this forum will help you achieve is to become financially wise and the ability to make better financial decision.

If after joining this forum and going through series of conversation on the different boards and your financial life still remains the same, it's going to be deficult to get better financial exposure outside of this forum.
