The Allman Brothers Band - At Fillmore East

Is that where they do the long version of Jessica? (sorry for the question, but I just left that 'ask a question' thread) I love that song! I believe it's on my Top 10 list, and if it ain't, it surely is on my Top 20.

The don't do Jessica, but they do a 23 min Whipping Post, and a 33 min Mountain Jam.

Jimi at the Fillmore East is what I ended up listening to the rest of the night.

Since Fillmore East was mentioned, I searched to see if Jethro Tull ever played there. He did, but I didn't care much for the song or the quality of the rendition, hence searching, finding, then sharing one of his other songs, one of which rendition I've never encountered before, but truly enjoy, hence sharing that rendition to you'll. Sorry for that sing-song sentence, but it now relates to this (now I need to actually hunt down a song to make my promise work  Roll Eyes): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHufyCHSF1U

I never would have found that song if I never would have penned the above, and you may never have seen if I didn't have posted it. Amazing, ain't it, how one man's action can effect another.

Fuck the Allman bros, if you're going to listen to some awesome music from Fillmore East, Jimi Hendrix is the only way to go.  Cool

Here's one of the same genre. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6Gv0q-qocI

Damn, that sure the hell brings back fond memories of when I used to host Writer's Nights in Nashville for three years. You see, I was the only host of Writer's Nights that did not sing or play a musical instrument (because I couldn't do either), thus allowing the writers more airtime. Toward my last year of doing these gigs--three nights a week--the writers still remaining at the end of the night would all play together, with the last song sung my me (the one I've linked to), for it's the only song I knew all the words to, coupled with it fitting my vocal rang whereas, I've heard, Matthew can sing Opera. It was not uncommon to have 20-30 writers on stage at one time, playing mostly guitars, ending the last set (actually, it was just one long 4-6 hour set without any intermissions).

I first heard this song in the fall of '94 on the radio at about 1AM outside of El Paso on my first trek to Vegas. Oh, the memories!
