Hello,
1. What are your personal the must-haves for an exchange to be of any interest to you?

2. Is low volume and liquidity a big "no go" to you? Or do you approach such exchanges as potential interest for market making or arbitrage (small exchanges are responding to volatility slower and this may give some good arbitrage opportunities), etc.

ps: we are launching a new crypto-to-FIAT exchange (starting with /EUR pairs) and would love to get tips from the crypto community on their needs in order to built durable exchange.

Thanks in advance,
Art
I try not to trade assets with a small trading volume, as it is more difficult to sell them when there is an urgent need. Most often I trade pairs with btc, eth and usd. I don't see any liquidity on the other pairs, so there is no sense to trade them. Perhaps in a year the situation will change and people will trade on more currency pairs.

The ease of usability and the lack of KYC. If I have to give you my information to do anything on your website I will not be involved with it, I don't care if thats the law, you have to follow the law where you are based on, I don't have to follow your laws since I am not living there. Hence I try to select the highest number that I can trade without giving any information at all.

Binance is great on that front, I can trade as much as I want and still not give any info at all, their limit is way above what I have in bitcoin. Also the amount of coins are important too with volume of course, there are many places like cryptopia that has many coins but they lack volume so it makes no sense, however binance has a lot of coins and all of them have healthy volumes too.

฿itcoin for all, All for ฿itcoin.
Low Volume is a no go for me, apart from making daily trade close to impossible as one's sell or buy orders may not be filled for along time, it's also sometimes a sign the the exchange may not be safe and trustworthy

Security, low transaction fee, no minimum trade, SEO friendly website, no KYC verification required, and responsive customer service. Besides that, because I am a short-term trader, so I am only interested in exchanges that have a large volume and more liquidity. But sometimes I also choose exchanges based on the altcoin that I get from bounty campaigns, but this is only to sell them, then leave  Grin

Of course the key reasons of choosing  a exchange is having a low fee and great platform or exchange. And also how the exchange is secured to any hackers.

Where is my ring of blades...
"low" in a way is a relative term. and I have seen people confuse it with a dead market. for example there are many exchanges with low volumes out there which are working fine and I have had the best experiences of my trading on those platforms whereas I always had bad experiences with big exchanges because of a lot of issues including lack of support, slow servers,...
"low" volume in my opinion is not a problem as long as their markets are not dead which means as long as there are people trading on these platforms in those markets, it will be fine.

and to answer your question as it was mentioned for me the security and trust is the most important factors.

My number one reason of choosing a right exchange and that would be an exchange with has a lot of volume for it and would make prices change every time.

You have to be careful when you want to choose a place of exchange, you should be able to see a place of exchange that has high security and a fee that is not too high, you should be able to find a place of exchange that has very much trading volume every day because there will be many traders who trade there.

Indeed, security is the important thing. Daily volume, low fees and there is no need to do kyc for small transactions will be good too. Currently, there are many new exchanges have been created but not all of them able to fulfil such conditions and that is why I still prefer to use the old exchanges, exchanges that already proved to be secure and met most of the above conditions.

The most important thing is trust and reliability and then a broad range of coins and liquidity, without the first thing I won't go near to any exchange.

I personally only like to trade in highly liquid markets but know of many who look for opportunities in low liquidity markets. Each have their merit, high liquidity allows for more trades but lower spreads, low liquidity the inverse.

As for crypto/euro pairs, it's always going to be tough to compete and get enough of the market, even Europeans are so used to USD being the main currency now and it's confusing trading cross currency.

The security of the exchange is the most important for you to secure that your money is safe. There are many exchanges that have been hacked because of low security. If you want to ensure that your investment is safe, find a exchange that have high security.

I will look for the trading pairs and their security features while picking the exchanges and decentralized exchange are my preference always but sadly we don't have much of them so go with centralized one with better reputation like the exchange in my signature.

I prefer to be on the crypto market with standard volumes, security is very important, low cost and fast delivery, and there are admins who are ready 24 hours who can be contacted if there are problems with deposits and withdrawals.

Like it's been stated already, I mostly look at the security of my funds. Don't want no exchange where I wake the next day and find they've been 'hacked' and my money is gone. Then I look at the liquidity and volume of the exchange, then fees come last.

Volume is one of the main factor I will look for while I am start doing trading on any exchange and after that their security features will give us confident to hold our coins in that exchange for further trading and also to avoid the fees.

... selection of potential coins that can invite us traders to come, not rubbish coins...

Could you name a few that are of your personal interest? Would be very grateful  for such info.

A common problem faced, especially with centralized exchanges is long and inefficient withdrawal procedures, which often requires manual confirmation.
Liquidity also is a very important factor.

Thanks,

We'll intriduce a "crypto-friedly" IBAN as we like to internally call it. Basically, we've found a PSP that has the right opinion towards crypto and allows us to make quick/almost instant FIAT payments (of course, if these payments pass our AML requirements. I guess, most of the times AML procedures may be the thing that delays withdrawals. Also, keep in mind that some payments simply take a long time (like SWIFT).

What you say is unprofessional, which is a negative indicator when talking about a platform"Trust", you need a strong team with experience in this field.

Thanks for pointing it out.

Well, we are aware of what other exchanges offer and what is more or less most important (security, low fees, good support, enough liquidity and "some" coins or tokens to choose from, stop orders, tradingview-like graphs, etc), but what we are not yet aware of is the patters that provokes users to come in (like looking for tokens or coins that are not yet listed in /EUR market. Listing a new pair does not mean it will automatically succeed. I may even be useless if community doesn't need it).

I hear you naming trust, support, low fees and these are quite obvious things to be focused on (and we will be). But I am also keen on understanding what else should we introduce in order to get you as a customer. What would get you to us? ZRX/EUR or stop oder? API or an APP? API 1000 call maybe would make a big deal? this or that?

You see, we'll end up doing it all probably, but our luck is very much depending on the order all these things will get delivered to the customers.

By asking "tips" from you I'm actually hoping to get the suggestions that would let us be more competitive in the fields beyond obvious stuff.
