I read about Bitcoins in Wired magazine, but it wasn't until the news about Crete's banks going bonkers and people starting to invest in Bitcoins, that I finally got involved.
Wasn't it Cyprus?
But I know what you mean, the banks will screw up again ( It's inevitable) and BTC will rise again.

I was just walking home, thinking of nothing evil, when out of nowhere a man approached me and told me about Bitcoin.
It was really scary, but I immediately realized the scary man told the truth, never regretted coming here after that encounter.

Nice, I'm glad you found it - A lot of people into crypto's are disillusioned with the current banking system and it's tyrannous techniques.

Libertarian-leaning social-media feeds, as I recall. Unfortunately, it took me some months before I decided to pay Bitcoin much attention.
