its normal that the market always dump and pump, some futures want profits from dropping, some bad news released, and the government policy, both can cause the price dropping

Most of the causes all prices are drops it is because of the supply in the market, I think if bitcoin is down it also affect the other altcoin in crypto currency in the market that makes causes of dropping of their prices.

A lot of factors.
End of the year, people are cashing back and buying some stuff.
Whales are always there and will still be there, they can play with the price at any moment.
Announcement... When somebody with a lot of followers says something, people tend to follow blindly their call. So if McAffee tells that you have to leave XVG, there will probably be a drop of its value.
Crypto currency in general is very volatile, you can't expect to know everytime when a dump and pump is comming, that's the rule of this world.

The fall is due to the large growth that was before now there is a correction to a more realistic price, so many simply fix profits and go on holidays

Bitcoin is the parent of altcoin so I think the drop in the bitcoin has already affected the altcoin. I think the bitcoin is very pluctuative and I think the bitcoin price drop that is happening right now is a very commonplace where there will be a lot of investors who want to make big-scale profits when bitcoin prices are skyrocketing and this is of course done on a large scale by every investors who have invested with bitcoin this is of course going to be a decline back in bitcoin prices and will impact on altcoin. and I think it will be an opportunity for everyone to re-invest the bitcoin on a large scale because it will again pump the bitcoin price back up significantly.

Whales are playing a new scenario and this is part of the script. Nothing depends on us here. We can only adjust and try to earn on the market of crypto currency based on their scenario of events. After the new year, prices will increase by a lot of altkoins and bitcoins. Although for some altcoins and now prices fly into space.

It's simply a correction. Members are withdrawing their profits pre xmas. It's normal behavior imo, and its also expected after the new year too.

Initially, it was the BTC which started this price drop. Since one of the "whales" officially stated that he is switching to Bitcoin Cash, rather than on BTC, a lot of people lost faith in the credible nature of The First Coin. Consequently, as people started to move away from Bitcoin, many of the other altcoins also lost their trustworthiness and this is why their price had fallen. Nevertheless, mark my words, in the very beginning of 2018, you'll spectate a slight (and then steady) increase in the price of BTC, ETH, IOTA, etc. The coins have a huge potential, thus, they will still grow in the long-run.

Just because all the tokens have gone up so well this month, so the market needs a crash, how else to buy it again? Ha ha

They went up and happy owners started selling them to earn a lot, so the prices moved down. It's a market rules, it's natural. Soon the prices gonna go up again, it's like a waves.

End of year causes massive money flows, this also was seen on bitcoin

I agree, looking at Bitcoin's history, the same month has been dropping also due to payouts and cash outs for holiday season.
But this is the best time for traders and investors because when the prices are very low, it's the best chance to invest more and there will be massive investments into Cryptocurrencies because a lot of money coming in.

You're right mate, because having a lots of expenses this month people decided to cashout their money this month since this month is holiday season. Having a lot of things to buy as some people planned already to cashout their money which having a spectacular performance of bitcoin 2months ago that its value reached up to $20,000 this month. I believed that having a fall will surpass all the different obstacles and it will suddenly reached its historical value in the future.

Christmas is the one that made the price of a lot of alternate cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin drop. A large number of people cashed out for them to buy gifts for their loved ones, foods for Christmas, or for whatever they want to buy. Do not be afraid. This situation already happened so many times. You should know that this is just normal.

price go down when someone dumps tons of tokens/coins in an exchange
also due to news lurking around to take advantage of the low price
this is what other or big groups do getting the best of it to buy a lot and hold
to get the price to the moon, but there are also effects on how the
coin advertise and post to market, good names and backers makes it more
popular

I think basically the christmas theory of price correction stands tall amongst the others. Most people probably investing at the beginning of this year with the intention of making some huge profits which they can use to have a wonderful christmas and so getting to Christmas when price hit 20k for bitcoin people started selling off to get some cash for Christmas.Exchanges being hacked to me wasn't really a big deal to have caused such a massive crash.

Besides the decrease in capitalization and Christmas periods as pointed out, but what causes these period drop in price of Bitcoin? I think the primary answer is supply and demand; eager sellers drive prices down, whereas eager buyers drive prices up.

I think there are several factors that can lead to all prices in crypto down drastically to even one of them when someone knows their plummeting prices directly took off all of the bitcoin they have for fear prices will further drop from previous or running costs too high, until the announcement of the ban on using bitcoin by a country. but all the possibilities that we can not predictions in this crypto digital currencies.

I think we will soon see the sifting g out of those coins that have very little use or differentiation.

I think drops are caused by decrease in capitalization (a lot of participants take off their profit, some others need in real money on New Year's Eve).
Also the cryptocoins exchange rate depends largely on BTC as the most stable coin.
This is a holiday season people like me are interested to take out some profits to enjoy. This was the reason it dropped though BTC had a correction due from a long time and finally it's achieved. If BTC drops every alt will follow that so don't worry and remember to enjoy holidays.

I have participated in crypto just few months before this year ends and in my opinion, the plunge of market price of almost all cryptos is because of the coming events from Christmas to New Year. Every token holders are spending some of their goodies that is the reason why the market cap decreases as well as its market price. But hopefully things will be back to normal by January.
