With a $100 investment it depends on how risky you want to be. You can't join most ICOs because of the minimums to participate but if you want to gamble it then go for some of the cheaper newer altcoins and do some reasearch. Hopefully your $100 can blow up. But if you want to start a steady portfolio that you regularlly try to contribute then I would go with maybe BTC, ETH, IOTA, or OMG. Goodluck I hope you don't lose it.

Buying now some eth is the best. Having it for long term will definitely give you decent profit, even it for short term holding is quite good as the price now is having some dips but it quickly recover. As always eth is giving us opportunity to buy low and sell high.
