After Bitcoin and other currencies, we will use Virie. It will be the new currency of the world. It will use a distributed exchange network. This network will allow the users to buy and sell currencies, commodities and services without the use of third-party services, exchange houses and similar mechanisms, which can take advantage of their position.

cryptocurrency is never going to be universally used. but bitcoin might. and there is a big difference here.

as for speculation, it will continue for as long as bitcoin has a value. do you think US dollar is not being speculated and used for investment? it does and it is called Forex market!

Digital immortality is a possibility in the future, But life itself is not forever if ones stored his memory in a copy of himself this sure looks like him but not him as a whole, If we are defying what God had created us as a person that life is not forever in this world then this kind of idea is defying GOD's plan for us (in a bible senses of idea) But maybe we can use the idea of a digital self and we could use blockchain in storing our memory in a digital world the possibility is there but a human is not immortal cryptocurrency is.

This came out straight from a sci-fi novel, I presume? Jk, but yeah, it is highly unlikely that bitcoin would still be seen as an investment should everything in the future be digitized, as it will be more sensible to use bitcoin as a currency by then. Also, I generally don't agree to the sentiment of others who commented that the world wouldn't be as digitized as you envision it. Mind you, it's only 30 years since the advent of the internet and look at the changes that we have had by then. Even third-world countries will catch up, with the exception of course of their marginalized communities that will surely trail behind. It will begin on the financial system first, followed by most services next. It will be inevitable, and bitcoin will surely be a part of that digital future.
Agreed. The world is being digitized very quickly. In General, the world is moving faster and faster. Therefore, the use of bitcoin in any case will be ubiquitous.I think in the next 5-10 years, all of humanity will approach the technological singularity. And without Bitcoin is not enough.

The price of Bitcoin will never be stabile, even if or when it becomes the reserve currency of the world. The price of one Bitcoin will never be greater than what people want to pay for it.

Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency deserves to be treated as a payment system due to the words currency associated with it. However, most of us are treating it as a speculative instrument which is causing diversion of the fundamental principle of it. The role segregation is crucial when it comes to the user of the digital system. We must be able to identify the difference between digital and normal life.

Innovation certainly will always be present to follow the times, and I am sure there will be great discoveries like Bitcoin in the future, but Bitcoin is very difficult to replicate especially to be replaced because it has blockchain technology that is able to solve problems in everyday.

I do think the poor countries in the world will also be affected. Satellites will soon make internet access a global "right

So poor people will have access to the world wide web, they will have the right to be online. It's not a bad idea but ... can you imagine a post on facebook saying:
Quote
"What's up people!! Here we are me and my bodies starving day after day. Click like and you'll feed us!"

Before making internet "a global right" there are major problems that must be solved.

I don't believe that the world will become so "digitized" as you describe it.What about the poor countries in the third world?Do you think they will become "digitized"?However,to answer your question about what comes after bitcoin. My answer is...nothing. Grin
The blockchain technology might be adopted in various industries, but all cryptocurrencies will become obsolete.

Why do you think cryptocurrencies will become obsolete? What indicator are you basing this prediction off of?

We don't know really on what to become on Bitcoin in the market, all of the negative news are affecting the crypto market, the consumer's behavior or level of confidence are dropping as shown on the market, a lot of sell off as the price value of Bitcoin dive further, i am still optimistic on the market recovery after such market drops as posted, one should look into the market movement, it seem the market is stabilizing now at the level of 4k but a lot of negative speculation on the status, is this the new resistance level of Bitcoin? will it goes up again? a lot of question which affect the consumer's confidence level. Be patient instead and wait....

Once cryptocurrency is universally used, it won't make sense to keep it as an investment as the price will stabilize.

Quick question op, are the Fiat currencies that are universally used stable?. Bitcoin won't give as much ROI as it usually does holding so the only option will be trading just as the fiat currencies are traded between themselves in the forex market, so will bitcoin and other cryptocurrency be traded. That's why bitcoin is the solution, it's decentralized, digital, can be used as an assets also used as a currency at the same time.

Stable enough to be trusted to hold a relatively steady value and make transactions with.

You're right about bitcoin being the solution to be used as both a currency and an asset. This won't change, but it won't have as much potential as an asset if it's value stops moving so much one day. Its ultimate use lies in buying things with it, which we have yet to witness on a large scale.

What I'm trying to say is that this will lead to a digitized future where maybe consumerism and buying things (100-200 years) might not be apart of everyday life.

Widespread use of cryptocurrency is inevitable. Whether or not it's mainly Bitcoin is irrelevant.

BUT, what comes after all of this? We are so focused on crypto's use being an inevitability and speculating on future value to make money when such profit potential will not last.

Once cryptocurrency is universally used, it won't make sense to keep it as an investment as the price will stabilize.

After the widespread use of crypto is realized, the ultimate representation of how everything has become digitized (even value), the rest of our lives will also have mostly become digitized.

Being hooked to computer screens and smartphones will turn into being hooked on perfect simulations in virtual reality where everything is cheap and our minds can theoretically live on indefinitely for next to nothing. Value won't even have to be exchanged for the most part as consumerism will be obsolete.

Anyone else question where this will ultimately lead? What do you think?
