There were reasons why it didn't rise above that amount yet, just wait it out and see cause the year hasn't ended yet by far. Don't brag before the finishline.

OP, you were just lucky because of the hack, and that was the only reason it fell down under 600, else you were not going to see that price again this year. And shouting here and there like a kid that you won a debate does not make any sense here. Do you have any reasons to tell us why Bitcoin price will not go above $600 again? I asked this because you are talking like it won't go above that level ever.

Looks like we will be stuck in the $570  to $580 USD for a long time, I checked for the past 10 days the average is $577.81 (from August 16 to August 25). Last time weve seen the $600 USD level is 23 days ago at $606.17. Movements for the past few days is not big, the biggest so far is +$12 last August 5, after that the average is $2.77.  Undecided

It's all good. I actually don't mind this kind of stability in the market. It's nice to send someone an amount today, and that it still has the same value some days later. Good step forwards for people appreciating the currency aspect of Bitcoin. It's their time now.
Stability is indeed a great thing, however, I see quite some people complaining and worrying about the price that isn't moving a lot last weeks

These people are just impatient. I posted this before, but I think it is worth repeating since this is what invariably happens when price is stalled for some time. The longer the price doesn't move the stronger will be the next movement. Last time the price was at ~$650 when people started to voice their complaints again about it being frozen or nailed down...

And then it fell $100 overnight
much better to see that there's no movement because just like what you've said it is just showing the stability of the coin
so complaining why it is not moving or it s getting down would be part of this bitcoin  investment. we just need to keep and hold
i think.

Every TA article I've read over the last couple of days is bearish. Let's see if we hold $500 and ultimately CNY3000.

In the long run fundamentals always win. So get in if you believe in the fundas, or get out (of the way) if you don't

Exactly. That's also the way I trade. Technical analysis is good and fun but in th end, things may not go the way you expected them to go. Fundy thinking never faked me till now. If something is way too cheaper than it should be, I buy. If the opposite happens, I sell. Very simple. This may not work with bitcoin though. I am still afraid of bitcoin.

I think it's the constant hunger for seeing the price go up that makes people behave and think like that. Don't think this will ever change.

What can you expect after the hype before the block halving, and the recent hack of Bitfinex. Of course the market isn't moving much. People complaining about this are plain stupid. If people had a good number of coins, then yes, I could understand they somewhow want the price to go up, but a lot of these complainers mostly have far less than 1BTC. Just because of a potential profit of $20-$50 they keep complaining? Shame on them.

I have been saying this many times and falls under deaf ears. BTC will stay under $600 until the end of the year. But right now most of the people here are still in denial. Once they realize that it will really stay under $600 they will start getting angry. So expect many bearish threads and "bitcoin is dead" threads to come. Cheesy
Off course he will stay under the 600 because there are to many people who are just holding their coins because other people are telling them that he is going to rise you know so when no one spent coins the price wont rise allot and not even higher than 600 each.

I would agree with you but you did not provide any information about bitcoin's fundamentals. It would be very helpful of you if you post some sort of fundamental analysis of the current state of bitcoin backed by factual numbers and factual information. The problem here is you want us to believe you but how can we even if we really wanted to?

Please post your fundamental analysis on bitcoin. It will make a good discussion topic for everyone who are interested.

price change in the bitcoin is indeed something things that cause problems for those who do not have a good degree of patience. If you did want to benefit should you also have to think of negative things that may be happening to us. Prices will surely go up bitcoin it's just that we have to wait for it and never ever worry cause bitcoin won't give you something bad, fixed focus

Yes that is not down. That is why I said it is moving sideways - slightly down. I hope you can also see it from my point of view and avoid this petty argument. But I think we both would agree that for the time being BTC will not go above $600. For how long it will stay under $600 will be different for most people, but mine is until the end of the year. That is because there could be another fall in price that will take it at the low $500's. That's where we should all start buying in my opinion.

~~~How can you deny that BTC is going sideways-slightly down right now ~~~
are you really asking this?
there is always a range for any price, for bitcoin this range is slightly bigger than other markets like gold or forex. and right now this range is around $570 and unless it goes to $550 you can not call it sideways or "slightly down"! and even $20 is not unusual for bitcoin.
What would you call it right now? Is still going up currently? Please look at the chart and tell me what it is really doing. It is going sideways and slightly down from where I am looking.
yeah if you look at the charts starting from 18 July 2016 there is a down trend. but since you are talking about the current state you should also look at the current week (unless you are talking about daily changes which is a totally different story)
and looking at the chart for last week the price is moving up and down between 570-580 and you can not call this "down"
In bitcoin yeah long run fundamentals can working well but in stock not sure. okay we talk about bitcoin so even though now the price stay at under $600 but soon as possible the price would back rise.
still likely bitcoin has a price above 600USD rates. we still have a great opportunity to benefit from the sale and purchase bitcoin. I think now is the right time to buy some of the bitcoin.
That's true, fundamentals really matter and it is something important to identify in any investment.
